Truly wonderful 3-CD Box set with words and pictures,
By A Customer
This review is from: D'Une Ombre A' L' Autre (Audio CD)
I have been a Cabrel fan for more than 15 years, and this 3-CD collection really delivers a wonderful overview of his music. Half of the selections are from his "Sarbacane" tour (for which there is also a video, only in French video format unfortunately) taped in 1989 (i.e. almost 10 yrs ago), and the other half are acoustic numbers taped in 1991. Cabrel's style is that of the balladeer-troubadour, extraordinarily romantic, but also bittersweet in his disillusionment with modern society and regrets about missing a kinder, gentler time.

Ever since I heard "Petite Marie" while in France two years ago, I have loved Francis Cabrel. I was taking an immersion class and my professor played this song to help us distinguish french sounds but I was captivated with the music. It touched me and I wasn't even fluent in French! Merci, Monsieur Cabrel!

I've heard "d'une ombre al'autre" couple years ago when i was in france and i must say this is the french music with all its romance .Cabrel is not only a singer-musician, he is also a poet, an Artist maker of "chef d'oeuvre"

If there is a singer in this world that exist i think this is only Francis cabrel when you listen his musics it like that you are in another world, he is a philosophe, a poet, a singer. Reading his textes is the must exiting thing you can do in this life, sentimental, moralist, good chritian, loving of the nature are the most principal theme that reflects his songs, he prooves himself as the best ever heard in this planet, whatsoever english, spanish, german and so on there is no one like him. I've been listen to his songs for about 15 to 17 years i never tired of him and i don't think i will be tired untill i died. i think i'm the #1 fan of cabrel.
