5.0 out of 5 stars Best series ending module from TSR, August 2, 2006
This review is from: Dungeon Module Q1: Queen of the Demonweb Pits (Paperback)
This is the best series ending module in my opinion. I have run the Temple of Elemental Evil [T1-4], Against the Giants [G1-3], Decent into the Depths of the Earth [D1-2], Vault of the Drow [D3], and this module [Q1]. This takes the PC's from 1st to usually 15th level.

The module can be used stand alone, or as the end of the series. The concept of the web is excellent, and will put most PC's to the test. Properly played, most of the rooms will give problems to low level PCs unless they play carefully. PCs in the campain I ran never were able to defeat Lolth herself. This module is an excellent model for multi planes, or for semi-sci fi [not as much sci fi as Expedition to the Barrier Peaks]. This is one module that I highly recommend to have in your D&D module library [I had many modules that I gave away but could not bear to part with this one].

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the best module ever for 2nd edition AD&D, April 24, 2009
This module has it all. A net system of dungeon that is classic by making a "web" of four levels that can be transversed either by the teleportation rooms (easy way) or knowing where to "drop" to the upper levels. The rooms on the lower three web levels are excellent to the point that even the more experienced players will be challenged.

Lolth's "ship" is detailed for the first time in this module and the methods of first play of other planes are detailed in this module (are the prisoners in the cells actually dangerous creatures or is that ragged looking cleric actually telling the truth to the PCs?). The spells that normally work are either modified (PC: What do you mean my magic missiles fizzled??) or simply don't work (PC: What do you mean that I can't use the Chariot of Recall???).

The PC's that went into this module were never able to kill Lolth herself (she used the mirrors of teleportation in her room to escape). In fact, during one of the aventures of a super high level PC group, average 20th level each, they befriended a young drow to help her escape from this web dungeon only to find found out that it was Lolth herself!

At one time, I owned almost every 2nd edition AD&D module and have since given most of them away, but the D1-D3 and the Q1 I cannot bear to part with. They will remain a part of my gaming library until I find someone who will enjoy them as much as I have. This module is the creme of the crop for the 2nd edition AD&D.
