I scored this during the end of summer deal. This is a great game and lots of content and it was only $5! the base game and the dlc were both included.

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh. November 5, 2014

Boring. I had read reviews with this basic conclusion, but I like loot-driven hack-and-slash games like Diablo, Torchlight, and Titan Quest, so I figured this was more of the same. Somehow it's not.

Decent graphics, some nice particle effects, but the biggest problem with this game is that it was boring. I just couldn't find a reason to keep going. Leveling didn't feel like progressing in spite of choosing many different perks and stats, I didn't give a damn about a single NPC or even my own character, and the inventory is criminally small, making it impossible to even gather proper amounts of loot. Attacks didn't feel like they had any weight, and difficulty seemed to be a bit too variable.

I leveled to about 18 or 20 or thereabouts, and just didn't bother going farther. Don't bother with this game. It's not really worth it even on sale. I think I paid about $5 for it, and I guess I got a few hours of "entertainment" out of it, but I could have spent that time better on a game that was more fun.

2 stars for being boring but having decent graphics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Viable casual RPG. February 24, 2014

While most reviews are correct in that DS3 is different from the first 2, it has its own tasty bits that make it stand on its own right. The gameplay is decent, good graphics, and as I've seen, reasonably stable compatibility make it a fun addition to any collection. ATM DS3 and its Xpac are Steam only, and it does have Co-op play capability, which is not terribly common. Get it for the right price and its def worth your time.
