Wonderfully high quality,

I bought two packets of these dungeon tiles, and I am quite pleased with them. I was expecting a small, between paperback and hardcover sized booklet with pages of thick paper like the map from the DM's Guide. What arrived was the same size and thickness of most hardback supplements, with six sheets of pop-out terrain. They are quite thick and seem very durable, about as thick as 30-40 pages from a typical D&D book and made from good quality cardboard-like material. In all, I was pleasantly surprised when these arrived.

Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Tiles,
This review is from: Dungeon Tiles (Dungeons & Dragons Accessory) (Board book)
Well worth the small price, this item has been favored with reviews since release in August this year. I can only add that (2) sets are probably a better mix than one and go very well with the original Basic set (pre2006) that had similiar thickness tiles & miniatures. If you're using it for RPG or for the Miniature Battles style game, you'll definately want to add this item to your collection. Also note the upcoming 2 additional new sets (preorders) as these show both a support level & consistent product line that will enhance you're gaming.

High quality and versatile,

I was a bit dubious when I first heard about these, being well familiar with the cheesy cardboard fold-outs of the past but these are really high quality/thick cardboard. Not only that but they are quite attractive and versatile, I could easily use one of these to create almost any dungeon on the fly (they are 2-sided with graphics on both sides). This set even has the classic "Ye Old Tavern" that so many adventures start in.
I think it's great they are coming out with expansions too because there are definitely some things I missed in the first release. I have ordered the 2nd pack "Arcane Corridors" (have not recieved it yet) and can't wait for "Hidden Crypts" that comes out in a month. Now I just have to get better at using them instead of always falling back on pencil and graph paper...

WORTH THE MONEY,

If you can find any set of tiles for under $10 (including shipping), it's a deal hands down. I was expecting 6 sheets of glossy like tag-board about half the size of a sheet of paper each. What I received really blew me away for the value. Each tile sheet is the full size of a standard hardback D&D book. They're printed on very durable cardboard like you find in a kid's floor puzzle. And while they're glossy, they're also textured slightly with a kind of subtly raised crosshatch pattern that "zings" when you run the sharp part of your finger nail over it quickly. This keeps whatever markers you use from sliding all around on it. Now instead of each tile being the same size as the full piece of cardboard it's printed on, (other than 2 of the 6) each card is comprised of various sized individual tiles that you punch out of the cardboard, so when you're all done you have a stack of 38 separate tiles. 2 of the 38 tiles (a tavern and a house) are the full size of the sheet (8x10 squares), but all the rest range from 4x8 squares down to a 1x1. They all are double sided with various features on one side and mostly all blank dungeon floors on the reverse.
I was really surprised to find such a nice product, I'm looking forward to acquiring the rest of the set (up to 6 now!).

Very nice accessory for gaming. Two sides with spaces for ease of use in d20. For $10, I think they are well worth the price and add to our gaming, but if you do not use minis very much, they may not interest you.

Best product ever produced for D & D,
By
This review is from: Dungeon Tiles (Dungeons & Dragons Accessory) (Board book)
These are high-quality, well produced and very helpful aids to the D & D game. Almost indestructible and in a variety of formations, these can be readily used in most dungeon delving situations. The only drawback noted is that there are no cave/cavern tiles. I have been told that further editions will remedy this. These tiles make miniature use a hundred times easier than it was before. Being that miniatures are being pushed heavily by the 3.5 game, this tile release makes perfect sense and it is nice that "perfect sense" actually meant something to someone at WOTC.

The Best Value D&D Product Out There,
By
This review is from: Dungeon Tiles (Dungeons & Dragons Accessory) (Board book)
The tactical nature of 3.5 D&D combat begs for miniatures. A gridded surface to put those miniatures on is almost essential. Dungeon Tiles provide that surface in an attractive and durable package.
You get 6 full sheets of cardboard tiles. Each tile is protected with a finish that has a bit of 'tooth' to keep it from slding around on the tabletop. The art on the tiles is excellent and the first set strikes a good compromise between generic tiles and speciality bits. I really do think these tiles give the best 'bang for the buck' of any D&D product out there. I don't know of a single DM that wouldn't benefit from a set or two of these in his/her collection.

You get a lot of cardboard for your money in this product. They're thick, double sided, and seamless in dungeon assembly. I find myself using this over marking on the battlemat more and more.
My only complaint is the doorways. They look pretty cheeky.

Why didn't they think of this sooner?,
By
This review is from: Dungeon Tiles (Dungeons & Dragons Accessory) (Board book)
That's my only question about this product. It is a great value and immensely useful. I would buy this as an expansion to an adventure if they made them. Can you imagine buying "Sons of Gruumsh" and then buying the Dungeon Tiles for that adventure? Cool.
These tiles are extremely versatile, and allows the DM to map-as-you-go, which is always a problem if you want to pre-draw or pre-print your maps before a game session. They need to come up with a few items, though, and fast: everything is square or rectangular. We need diagonals, curved (circular) shapes, and large outdoor terrain tiles. By the way, if you haven't figured this out already, you can clip the throwaway pieces into straight segments and use them as walls to place on top of the larger tiles as dividers. Love the product!

Love This Set!,
This review is from: Dungeon Tiles (Dungeons & Dragons Accessory) (Board book)
All the dungeon tile sites are wonderful. They are made of sturdy cardboard which can withstand years of playing and DM (me) carelessness. They make encounter set-ups almost effortless and are worth the cost even if you use them once. This set's theme is that of an evil deity's temple but they can be used for any dark dungeon or castle. I've used them for castles settings more frequently. This one just reminds me of classic (1st ed!) D&D and is the one to get if you're only thinking of getting one. Excellent product! Highly recommend it as well as all the other dungeon tiles.
