This review is from: Dungeons & Dragons Heroes (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
(I originally played "D&D Heroes" on a friend's Xbox when it came out with a bunch of us stuffed onto one sofa in front of a big TV. We had a blast! Years later, I wanted to play it again (but my friend had long since sold/traded in his copy), so I picked up a copy of the game online and found that while it is a straightforward game of the genre, it is still really fun (and works just fine on the Xbox 360 even though it was made for the original Xbox)! The cutscenes are very well-done IMO as is the voice acting.)Anyways, just so I would not miss out on any fun bits (secret rooms, hidden loot, etc), I got this guide. It is very thorough with rundowns on all 4 classes and all their abilities, plus suggestions as to which abilities work best when. All the levels are described in good detail and there are copious screenshots from ingame. The "tips & tricks" for each encounter/level are described clearly. As I said, I mainly picked this up so I would not miss any secret treasure rooms or "shards" (upgrade crystals for your main weapon which are in finite supply) and it was extremely helpful in that regard. Boss battles are well-described, but I only really needed help with the final boss since his resistances change throughout the fight. The book is soft cover but very durable and well-bound. I still flip through it for fun even though I have finished the game! If you loved the game and still play it or plan to play it again, pick up a copy of this guide so you don't miss anything! |
