One of the most innovative adventures of all time, April 29, 2000
This review is from: In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons module A4) (Paperback)
What's a sure way to horrify any group of veteran players? Imprison them, take away all of their items (even clothing!), steal all their spells, then leave them for dead in the pitch-black caverns of an erupting volcano. One of the most evil adventures for AD&D; if you're the DM, of course, it's also one of the most fun! Besides S1 Tomb of Horrors, this adventure is the ULTIMATE test of player ingenuity and heroism. A true classic for levels 4-7, highest recommendation.

Interesting, November 18, 2004
This review is from: In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons module A4) (Paperback)
A4: In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords is an AD&D (1st edition) adventure module for six to eight characters of level four to seven. This module picks up immediately after A3: Assault on the Aerie of the Slave Lords, with the player characters (PCs) rotting in the Slave Lords' dungeon. But, all is not well on the island of the Slave Lords, and their priests are looking around for a likely sacrifice to the Earth Dragon - guess who they pick? As such, without their fancy equipment, the PCs are dropped into the labyrinth beneath the island, hopefully to die. Can they survive? It will take skill, teamwork, and a little luck!
This module is the last in a series of four. These modules are generally considered four of the finest modules to come out of AD&D 1st edition, and no one should skip past them. This module has some interesting twists, with the character being stripped of all of the "goodies" that they have come to rely on, and really forces them to think hard and be creative. I loved this module, and so did the players who ran through it. By the way, besides having an interesting story, and some great villains, this module has four new monsters - the Cave Fisher, Magman, Myconid, and Sandling.
So, if you are running an AD&D campaign, and want to treat your players to one of the best adventures every written, then get this module!
