5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific sandal, very comfortable
This is a review of the Dunham Moose Fisherman sandal, one of the best shoes I have had the pleasure to own. This is a good looking sandal, with its grainy brown (not shiny) leather finish. They are durable, I bought mine a few years ago, and they still look like new. Some sandals and other summer shoes leave your feet too exposed. I only wish it had a protective heel...

2.0 out of 5 stars Did not fit
This sandal was stiff out of the box and abrasive on my toes.
I returned it with the note that it did not fit my wide foot properly.
I've had Dunham sandals before and liked them. This was disappointing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific sandal, very comfortable, March 29, 2010
This is a review of the Dunham Moose Fisherman sandal, one of the best shoes I have had the pleasure to own. This is a good looking sandal, with its grainy brown (not shiny) leather finish. They are durable, I bought mine a few years ago, and they still look like new. Some sandals and other summer shoes leave your feet too exposed. I only wish it had a protective heel guard as well, like my Keens.
It is designed in such a way as to cover and protect your toes, and it feels safer knowing you won't stub or catch your toe on something. Also if you have ugly toes like me, its a plus. The sandal is not sweaty or smelly, it breathes very well and ventilates nicely. Extremely light, withs a sturdy athletic shaped sole. Good traction for a non-sport sandal that looks dressy enough to wear indoors. It has good arch support and was true to size when I bought it. It has a great system for adjusting it to a good fit, with velcro straps below each ankle, and a third strap that crosses over the foot. This combination gave me a custom fit like nothing I have ever seen, I could set it once and forget it. The heel strap is made of a different materiel than the rest of the uppper, it is a synthetic padded stretchy material that is not only comfy but allows me to slip into the shoe without undoing any straps. You just slip it on and go. I wore this all day at Universal Studios, wore it in Maui sightseeing, and it was comfortable. Mine have gotten a little wet a few times and are OK so far, but the I wonder if I got them wet all the time if the leather would suffer.
I recommend this sandal for excellent fit, arch support, durability, and looks.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Sandal for 4E Wide Feet, September 8, 2009

I purchased these sandals for my husband who wears a 4-E Wide shoe, which are extremely hard to find. He absolutely loved them the first time he put them on. Yes they are sandals but the enclosed toe box keeps the sand/dirt out. He commented this year he wished he had another pair just for a spare so I ordered another. The original pair is 2 years old and they still look like new and my husband wears them every day. I would highly recommend anyone who wants a great new pair of shoes that you will not have to break in these are the shoes for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the risk, July 13, 2009

Having wider feet has always made purchasing sandals difficult because historically I've had to get larger sizes to accommodate the extra width. I finally decided to try to find a pair of sandals that would fit and I discovered these online. I searched for local outlets to try them on but was unsuccessful. Nevertheless, I decided to order them online. I've never purchased shoes over the Internet before because I've always been leery about the fit/feel, but the company was associated with New Balance and I've always had luck with them. Anyway, this is the first pair of sandals that actually fit right. The arch support is correct because the size is correct and there is plenty of room in the width. I've worn them in all sorts of condition and they are by far the best sandals I've owned. If you've got wide feet and you're looking for a good pair of sandals, I highly recommend these. They are expensive, but I think you'll find it money well spent.

Great shoe & size. Would have given it 5 stars if the price would have been a little cheaper.
