Very Good Boot!, May 13, 2011
This review is from: Dunham Men's 8006 Addison Mid Cut (Apparel)
I have worn this boot for nearly two years for every day of my job. I am a police officer and I know I have a good boot when it's approaching two years and nothing is wrong. No stiches have come out and the sole is still good. I may get 6 more months out of them and that's great for wearing a boot every day in all types of weather. I live in North Dakota and put these boots through all four seasons. About as fair priced as you'll find for the quality that you'll receive!

Dunham 6E Boots, January 6, 2011
I purchased these boots because I was taking a trip to the Lake Tahoe area this December, and needed a pair of boots for the snowy/slushy conditions. I have a very hard time finding shoes to fit my wide feet, let alone boots. Most boots are offered only an an average width. I normally wear a 4E or 5E shoe, and took a chance on the 6E width of these Dunhams.
These are the most comfortable boots I have ever had. With thick socks they are perfect, and they are even wearable with regular socks.
They are waterproof and have a grippy sole, so they worked out great for my trip. These are great quality, and much less expensive than the custom-made boots I bought last year, which were not waterproof.
These are definitely keepers.

Not Very Waterproof--Not a Good Fit In The B Width, March 25, 2011
This review is from: Dunham Men's 8006 Addison Mid Cut (Apparel)
I bought this Dunham 8006 shoe mainly because I needed a waterproof shoe or boot for walking in the rain. Not wading through big puddles or crossing creeks or rivers or anything extreme, just an occasional stroll in the rain. Most of the shoes I looked at were Gore-Tex or similar breathable synthetic material, pretty expensive, and not particularly attractive. I wanted a shoe I could wear in different situations, not just on the trail and walking in the rain, something that looked good. Immediately this Dunham shoe looked like a good alternative--all leather, ankle height, good for trails as well as walking down the street, and it came in a B width, unusual in these day of homogeneity, when one size is supposed to fit all.
Okay, I bought a pair. They do keep out most of the rain, compared to my regular Reebok walking shoes that let the rain soak through the leather after about 15 minutes of walking in light rain. The Dunhams are better than that, but when I get home and remove the shoes I find my socks each have a large wet spot, below where the tongue and the bottom of the laces meet on the outside of the shoe. Not leaking through the leather itself, just at the joining of the tongue and shoe. Very disappointing! This has happened each time I've walked in the rain. I expected better.
I was also thrilled to find a shoe that actually came in different widths, whereas most shoes these days come in a medium "D" width that for most narrow, C or B feet tend to be a little loose. But, again, I was disappointed! I have worn Reebok walking shoes in their regular medium width for many years, and they fit my size 12B feet perfectly. These Dunhams in B width are not narrow. They fit loose in the heal and they are way too wide in the toes. You can set one next to one of my Reeboks and see the difference immediately. I simply cannot recommend this shoe in spite of the reasonable price.
On the plus side, if they fit properly and waterproofing were not a concern they'd be a nice shoe as they are lightweight and comfortable, very flexible compared to many other so-called lightweight hiking boots that are like wearing clogs with laces. I like the ankle height.
If you buy them for the width, be sure to wear them around the house long enough to know whether or not they fit properly, ortherwise return them. Don't buy them for waterproofing.
