I love this book! Could not put it down and can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy.Hilarious! Laugh out loud, does for the vamps what Terry Pratchett does for Discworld[and if you haven't read those you've got to].

OK so this is for a kindle or some such reading aid. You have a few choices with Gregs books but you can "get it all" including Audiobooks from Greg. Greg Crite's books are not your usual fair, they tend to be verbally explicit, so get over it and read on. Greg's literary talents will take you by surprise, he does not follow the usual model for a good read or excellent read. In other words don't expect to be guided through the story via the tired time worn pattern you are used to, instead prepare for a roller coaster ride, a ride full of fast starts sudden turns, jerk to the left, jerk to the right and then your tossed out the back wondering" WTF?" I'm not done yet! Try listening to his self read audiobooks, they are again not the usual silver tongued, smooth talking, professionally narrated, audio performance you are used to. Greg's gravelly voice and characterizations will draw you in like a sirens call. Greg will take you by the back of your collar and throw you into a maelstrom. In his narration he will be moving fast, you are pulled right along with him in such a profoundly different manner that, by the end of the story you are left with "WT, Woe, Wait for me I want to ride again! Wait! Tell me another Story!!!!!" When you get hooked, don't be afraid, you are not alone. I've read and listened to them all. I do enjoy a good standard best seller now and then but sometimes you have to take a chance, step outside the box and experience something unique, sell the new CAMRY buy an old JEEP, have some fun.

Greg is just darn funny. This book has action and well developed characters but the best part is how much you just have to laugh.

I am an avid reader, and I have read many, many books of all types. We're talking everything from Angst to Uplifting( can't think of anything starting with "Z" )I can honestly say that Greg Crites has a warped and twisted sense of humor. I actually laughed out loud at his characters antics, which I guess means I have a warped and twisted sense of humor! I am buying everything I can find written by Greg, because my God! He's hilarious! Forget Anne Rice, Charlaine Harris, etc, this is definitly written from a guys viewpoint. And though I am a woman, I've raised 2 sons, have 2 brothers, and have always been surrounded by men so I can tell you guy humor has a charm all it's own. (Yes, it's sophomoric humor, but we are talking about men!)Read it and enjoy!

Pretty freaking funny!,
By ChibiNeko "Sooo many books, so little time!" (Whereever I go, here I am.) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE)

Let me say this up front. Not everyone will like this book. If you are looking for something serious, you probably won't want to get this book. Heck, even if you aren't, there's a chance that you may not like the tone in this book. Either way, you should still probably check it out. It's pretty funny.
The book follows the adventures of Dunkin, an obese vampire hunter who has spent a good portion of his long life alone. He has to eat or the vampire blood inside of him may take over. It isn't until he meets the hairy carpenter Ash & the alcoholic detective Devil that his life begins to change for the better & he finds that there may be life after Twinkies. With wimpy vampire masters, man eating anacondas, vampiric animals & the hottest female vamp this side of Kate Beckinsale, Dunkin may finally have bitten off more than he can chew. Ok, so now I'm going to attempt to elaborate on the "you may not like this book" bit. This book manages to combine the silliness of a Marx Brothers movie with the fun of an old pulp novel. Part of what makes this book work so well is that Crites manages to pull off some of the funniest one liners I've read in vampire fiction lately. Is this book going to win the high muckity muck award from the high & mighty so & sos? Nah, probably not. Is it entertaining & fun to listen to? Yup, you betcha. If you are unsure as to whether or not you want to buy this book, there are podcasts of this available on the internet to listen to & I encourage you to hear them. Crites is incredibly fun to listen to. (But you should buy the books as well & read while listening- it'd be like those read along books, only instead of a chime telling you to turn the page there would be a big HAR!)

This is not your momma's old bite em and run vampire tale. This is by far, the most innovative vampire novel I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Generation X have a new hero and his name is Dunkin. This Motley Crue of vampire slayers will have you laughing until it hurts. Add to cart today you won't be disappointed. Hey! Don't take my word just read an excerpt for yourself.

Crites is a HOOT! I haven't had this much fun in decades! I don't know where he keeps his brain when he isn't writing, but it's scary to think of it running loose somewhere! Dunkin the Vampire Slayer has something for everyone, no matter how mad you might be! It has non-stop action, hysterically absurd humor, and the oddest collection of characters you could ever imagine. Buy two! You won't want to let your copy get away from you!

I adore Terry Pratchett and I think Crites is just as talented at wit and humor. Each book in this series gets better, a rare occurrence. I would recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone. I do think the Dunkin series appeals to a masculine audience, although I thoroughly enjoyed it, I think men might find it even funnier if possible.

Greg Crites is one of the best word-slingers around. The story is fun and fast paced and the interaction between the characters is the best part. Just be careful when listening to the story in public places since people will look strangely at you when you start laughing.

The dunkin and Devlin series,

Dude Crites you are the best pod caster alive. I am going to kindle to buy all the series and still buy the podio versions because the books will never sound as great in my own reading as when you do it. Please keep making them and thanks for the fun.
