Other features include increased pedal travel, silent, auto on/off switching (remove your foot from the pedal and the effect shuts off), 'Q' control for variable wah intensity and a volume control with boost capability. Dunlop, maker of the Original Crybaby Wah pedal, has introduced the 105Q Ultimate Bass Wah. The 105Q Bass Wah incorporates a new, proprietary potentiometer and custom EQ circuitry specifically designed for bass frequencies. Together, these new, uniquely engineered elements provide smooth response and a fat, full bass tone. The 105Q Ultimate Bass Wah also includes Dunlop's celebrated Q control, which provides full control over the pedalís intensity and sound modeling. With the Q control, the player can select the exact wah tone desired, from bright and punchy to warm and subtle. Simply stepping on the pedal engages the effect in the lower register, creating a smooth transition into the wah effect. When you remove your foot, silent auto-off switching automatically bypasses the effect. The built-in spring automatically returns the pedal to its 'off' position. Also included in this pedal is an adjustable volume control, allowing you to tailor the level of the wah from almost silent to a significant increase, providing extra gain for wah-enhanced solos. Overall this is a good pedal. The sound is good and the Q control can create a good range of sounds. When you step off it, it goes to the full up position, and switches to bypass if left there for a half second or so. The bypass is excellent; I can't tell it's in the chain when I'm not using it. It has a strong metal housing, and you can easily put your full weight on it without hurting it. A metal gear strip attached to the platform turns a gear in the base, making for a very solid connection.

My biggest complaint is that the platform has a pretty limited range of motion-- 10 or 15 degrees at most. A little more range would make it easier to get some in-between sounds rather than full on or full off. While it's sound is quite good, I think there's still some room for improvement there as well.

This is an incredible pedal, and is worth every cent you pay for it. It will certainly take a chunk out of your wallet, but if you want a bass wah that will sound incredible and LAST (it's seriously durable) this is the one you need to get.
