4.0 out of 5 stars My Go-To Pick
I have been playing the guitar for 25 years and teaching for 10, and this is far and away the best pick I've used. I've tried every major brand of pick in every thickness and material imaginable and nothing approaches the feel and consistency of this pick.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK pick, but too slippery
The picks are fine as picks go. But as soon as they are used for a bit, they get very slippery and move around too much. I would not get these again. I have no similar trouble with Fender Medium Tortoise shells, but they break. Continuing my search...

4.0 out of 5 stars My Go-To Pick, February 7, 2009
This review is from: Dunlop Gator Grip Pick Pack, Pack of 12, .58mm (Electronics)
I have been playing the guitar for 25 years and teaching for 10, and this is far and away the best pick I've used. I've tried every major brand of pick in every thickness and material imaginable and nothing approaches the feel and consistency of this pick.

I'll admit that I am slightly biased toward a thinner pick, but really, you can change the dynamics of your pick attack by where you grip the pick. This is one of the reasons I'm partial to the .58mm Gator. Held close to the top, it provides a light, sweeping attack (great for strumming--especially on a nice acoustic with bronzed strings). If you hold the pick closer to bottom, you get a sharp, precise attack. Also, how tightly you grip the pick affects attack and tone; this is where the grippiness of the Gator comes into play.

I've got a wide variety of specialty picks for different applications, but for the comparatively few times I use a pick (I generally play fingerstyle), I always reach for my Dunlop Gator Grip.

Wow. That sounded like a product endorsement. Perhaps the good people at Dunlop will read this review and see their way clear to sending me an offer of employment in their writing department. Or at least some free picks.

I love these picks, I've been using them for years and finally got around to ordering mass quantities since I keep loosing them so much. They arrived just advertised and speedy!

Thank You!

I thought the pick would have more of a tacky or grippy feel. Better than a plain Dunlop pick, but nothing special.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice grip, January 12, 2010

I have a problem keeping a pick from rotating between the fingers. I find the rubberized feel of the pick surfacing pleasing. While 0.58mm is relatively thin, I prefer to pick with a larger radius corner which adds to the apparent stiffness.

My favorite pick so far -- highly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great...if you like light picks, July 30, 2007

These picks are fine as long as you are not looking for a heavy pick. But, as long as you stick to strumming these will suit your needs just fine. I only gave them 4 stars because for .58mm, i think they have a little too much give. The texture is great though, and you can't beat that "gator grip."
