Heavy and Short,

This review is from: Dunlop 228 Heavy Wall Chromed Steel Slide, 2 Inch
If you like a heavy slide for your second or third finger, this is it. Not for the pinky. This is a meaty slide, and short. If you want a heavy slide for high action this would work.

Great for what it is,
This review is from: Dunlop 228 Heavy Wall Chromed Steel Slide, 2 Inch
I felt I had to add this review after reading the previous one. In the world of slides whatever works for you at a certain point in time is where it's at. One size doesn't fit all. I use this slide on my pinky, it is slightly loose, but that beats the alternative. You adjust to it. Having the heavier wall makes this slide very touch sensitive. A light touch brings great tonal rewards. I use this slide on a National Resophonic El Trovador 12 string in C vastopol (open d dropped one step) and a Triolian in G. It is well suited for these guitars. If you do not like the heavier wall, the shortness, or need to cover all of the strings at one time, I would recommend the Dunlop 232. I find it works better than the 228 on my M1 Tricone. I am finding my glass slides to be better suited for lower action electrics and non-resonator acoustics. If you are not careful the glass tends to whistle on the resos and it it doesn't have the meat and potatoes punch. If possible try before you buy, what works for you is an individual thing.
