5.0 out of 5 stars Jim Dunlop Nylon Guitar Picks are the BEST!!!
For years I have been trying various guitar picks to use on my electric bass guitars with round-wound strings. I must have tried over 50 different picks, and these are the winner hands-down!!! Not only do they give an excellent sound, but they last forever! After trying one each in .60mm, .73mm, .88mm and 1.00mm, I settled on the .60mm nylon picks. So I went out and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh.
I don't really like these too much as I prefer heavier picks, but to each his/her own I suppose! I like .7s a lot more.

So I went out and bought a 1/2 gross of them, figuring that they would wear out in a couple of weeks each. Boy was I wrong!!! Where as a medium celluloid pick from a major guitar company lasted roughly 2 weeks, I am still on my first pick after 4 months!!! That's right! I have been using one pick every day for at least 1-2 hours a day, and after 4 months, that pick is still going strong!!! So much for the advice about choosing the heaviest pick to play the bass guitar! I was told that if I even tried to use a lighter pick, that I would go thru them like water. Not true in this case. The sound is phenomenal, and they last forever...well...a very long time anyhow! Another benefit is the grip! Due to the raised lettering, these picks will not slip in your grip!

If you play the electric bass guitar, and if you haven't tried these yet, go to your local guitar store and buy ONE! You can't go wrong with these picks! When you are convinced, stock up....but only because you are more likely to misplace the pick then wear it out!

Thesea re by far the best picks I've ever used. Once I tried them I became hooked. They last longer than you can keep track of them; you only need to purchase new ones because you lost 'em. The grippy surface ensures far less slips while performing and the nylon springiness interacts just right with the strings.

These are great picks that will not wear out! The only reason I ever need to buy more is because I misplace them.

These are excellent picks, and I would buy more, but ...
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW MANY PICKS YOU GET by ordering this item (model number: 44P60, Dunlop Nylon Standard Picks, Grey .60mm)?

I may have missed this info, but in either case I would appreciate some help.

Thanks,

Tim

If you play folk music and if you use 0.011" gauge strings, this is your best choice. I just love this picks. I've played with some pick brands, and I broke 2 picks each concert! But now, I play my guitar with Dunlop picks and I have the same pick that 1 year ago. John Doyle recommended, and I use it!

Good product and does the job fine. Dunlop seems to be one of the few companies that makes nylon guitar picks. What you need to know about this is a .50mm in nylon will be much, much thinner feeling and work/operate like a thin pick of much slimmer gauge. This is not a flaw, its just a characteristic of nylon picks. In other words, a .50 nylon is going to be flimsier and more springy compared to a .50 in a standard plastic pick.
Example: As a general guide a .73 in Dunlop nylon will feel similar to a .50 in standard pick.
The nylon picks also seem more durable than standard plastic and I love that about them because they resist chips and cracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one kickin' pick!, July 10, 2011
This review is from: Dunlop Nylon Standard Picks, Grey .60mm (Electronics)
Simply put, I have been using this pick now for 32 years. They keep going and going and going and going... If I didn't know better, I would think that Dunlop and the company that makes the Energizer battery were one in the same.

Different than most guitarists, I have always used the rough and rounded two corners of the pick. I use the rough area on the flat part of it to scrape the string in order to draw out some seriously over-the-top octave harmonics. Try it some time!

These are spectacular! ENJOY!

This material (nylon) feels more flexible than others used for picks. This thickness: .60, is just the perfect balance for me. I tried the really thin ones (white color) and didn't like them at all! They were way too flexible (almost like a paper) and didn't bring all the sound that my guitar could produce. This is a wonderful pick. I've tried dozens of other brands and materials and this is just the best.

You really don't need too many of these picks. I have had the same pick for 10 years and it still rocks. I got more just due to misplacing this favorite pick of mine. Super durable, great medium-light pick.
