More About the Author

I was born in the DARK DAYS just after the second World War 1948,in Earl Street Glasgow, and was brought up in Whiteinch, I was not very good at school, so left at 15 with no qualifactions, as per the norn, went straight into the Shipyards (Barclay Curle Diesal Works) were the Engines for ships were built. It was here that a Manager Mr Brian Ingles saw something in the young Clark, and sent me to night school, and onto College, enabling me to qualify as an Engineer ( I owe this man everything)

After qualifing, I did what most of the young apprentices did, and joined the merchant navy glory days............. After 5 years in the Navy I came shore side and climbed the Corporate ladder with Blue Chip Companies,in the UK and Overseas, and in 1988 I was able to buy my first business, and in 1990 my Compnay was the fisrt in Russia, the rest is now History.

While in Russia the long dark nights one either took to the local habit of getting drunk on Vodka or doing something meaningful with your time, so I thought I could write about my experiences in a Fictional way this is where The Baltic Triangle Codename Seaforth came from, I hope it is one of five books I have in my head,!!!! It will be in the shops just after Christmas, thats if the Publishers keep to their word.

My first Book The Baltic Triangle "Codename Seaforth" will be available from January 2011 I hope!!!!!

This is another example of the kind of book anyone with a page layout program and Photoshop could whip up in a day or so. Just type in a few paragraphs of generalities then take some photos and layout a template to build 130 pages of color variations. A rather disappointing purchase.

Just as the initial reviewer, Jean-Philippe Gay indicated, there is not a lot of information in this book. There is much more information how to handle duotones, etc in some older and new books about Adobe's Photoshop than in this one. I should have listened to Mr.Gay but I made the mistake to buy it. A really disappointing experience and no learning opportunity !

As a graphic designer, I use this book to pick duotones, monotones, and tritones from when I'm working in Photoshop. I trust a printed sample of a tone to be more accurate than what my screen gives me (no, I don't have calibration tools) so for me, the dozen or so pages at the back of the book with 4 color breakdowns is helpful. The preceding pages are not as they fail to identify what PMS or spot color is being used. Every other designer that I've shown this book to feels the same way.

Great idea for a book but poor execution.
