5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased
I've had this product on my Corvette for over three years. It still looks like the day I applied it. Absolutely no fade or discoloration whatsoever. It's important to note that the paint does set up (read 'dries) quickly and will require multiple coats. However, a little preplanning and a thorough reading of the instructions will result in a quality finish. I would...

3.0 out of 5 stars its ok
for the price, its ok, the brush that comes with it dismantled by the second caliper i was painting, and during the first caliper while painting, the bristles came loose and all over the paint job ruining it. Do not use the brush it comes with, it is terrible. So far the paint seems to be ok, well see. I ordered the red paint, the paint was bright and i did 2 coats and it...

I would suggest that the brush supplied as part of the kit is very coarse and difficult to use in tight areas. I substituted a smooth artist's brush which worked very well and gave smooth results.

I ended up taking off my calipers completely so I didnt use the tape at all but it is included with the kit. The cleaning solution worked awesome. I took a wire brush to my calipers at first and then used the cleaner to get the rest. The paint went on very easily. The brush that comes with the kit is garbage. Make sure you have a decent one before you get started. I ended up doing 5 light layers on paint on my calipers and still had plenty of paint to do another car if I wanted. Left it to dry after I was finished for about 18 hours and then put them on my car. The paint looks great. I've only had it on a few days but its holding up well so far. I havent tried other caliper paints but I would definitely say you could use this and not worry about getting the wrong one. Would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Caliper paint, December 12, 2010

I have used the spray can version of this paint before and found it to be great. The brush version works just as well. I used the brush version because of the difficulty of masking my car. The only suggestion I have is to toss the provided brush (it sheds bristles) and use a good quality camel hair brush of your own. The cleaner does a good job of preping the surface. The dry paint easily sands off the raised letters on my calipers leaving a professional looking job.

Very nice product , really gives you vehicle a sport look and makes your weels stand out

i used this on my 2002 ford mustang and it even matched the original car paint which i later used for touch ups

simple to apply + paint shine's really nice

however the tape provided is really cheap and so is the brush which came apart on my third caliper

+ i do recommend you to buy a nice wire-brush to get all of the brake dust off.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Finish and Quality!, July 8, 2011
This review is from: Dupli-Color BCP400 Red Brake Caliper Kit (Automotive)
I purchased this item from an auto parts retailer after reading reviews here on Amazon and was so impressed with the finished look of my 1998 BMW 323is calipers I felt compelled to give it a review for those of you who may be on the fence about purchasing. First of all do not go by the look of the picture displayed on the box it looks way better after being applied on the calipers. Second the shine is incredible and looks like I purchased an expensive "Brembo Kit"! I am very pleased with the results of the Dupli Color Caliper Kit I would recommend anyone interested in painting their cailpers to buy it, well worth every penny! BTW the color looked even better the next day after it fully dried that I went out and bought another kit for my wife's car.Dupli-Color BCP400 Red Brake Caliper Kit

4.0 out of 5 stars Good caliper paint, but not very durable, May 5, 2011

I didn't give it 5 because paint is easy to chip even after curing. I've used G2 caliper paint before and honestly, this stuff won't even come close to matching durability of G2.

Only problem with G2 is you cannot save paint (turns rock solid in several hours), so it has to be thrown away. However, Dupli-color caliper kit can be stored away and used later on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, January 5, 2012

Easy to use with straight forward instructions. Like other people though I found that the brush dropped some fibres but that's fine as the brush is the best size for the job. Nice rich color and great paint quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Paint looks great; materials not so much, January 1, 2012

I was a bit worried when looking at the pics on the box, but after reading other reviews, I thought I'd take a chance. The finish on the calipers looks MUCH better than the pics. Do your prep work! The brush that comes with the package is garbage. I've seen better brushes for applying flux to soldering pipes. My first caliper I attempted to use it, not having another handy. I spent as much time picking bristles that fell out off the caliper as applying paint. I'd suggest finding another brush as others have suggested as well. Also apply several thin coats and let them dry to get the best results. Also, the take wasn't great nor too much of it so I used the cardboard from the box to block off the rotor itself and the tape to hold it in place and cover things like the bleed valve.

The brake cleaner works pretty well, but no more so than others. It is a nice touch that they include it in the box. The stir stick is a nice touch too.

One fault, no instructions on clean up. The paint dries quickly. So unless you have all 4 wheels off, it would be hard to use a single brush with no clean up instructions as the brush would be destroyed by dry paint before you got to the 2nd wheel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but......, December 31, 2011
This review is from: Dupli-Color BCP400 Red Brake Caliper Kit (Automotive)
You should definitely open the box, find the brush that the kit came with and then throw it away. Don't even think about using it. Go buy a soft brush from a craft store. I used hog bristle. Also preparation is key. I removed the brake shoes and used a wire brush on a drill to clean the calipers. Then I used an air compressor to blow off of the dust after wire brushing. After that I used the cleaner that was provided in the kit and sprayed generously and let all of the residual dust and grease drip off - then repeated. Once the calipers were dry, I masked off, using the provided tape, the bolts, rotor, brake shoe clips and grease point. Once that was completed, I painted the calipers with 5 light coats (without removing them from the car). Also note that I waited about 20 minutes between coats of paint. I recommend waiting 1 full day (24 hours) before you drive. The paint needs a sufficient about of time to completely dry. Just because it feels dry, doesn't mean that it actually is.
