When I came back in the morning and tried to sand the stuff was not tacky but anywhere that it built up my nail could leave a dent, and when sanding if you weren't careful it would separate from itself in clumps rather than sand off smoothly. I had to play with it a little to get it how I wanted, and the results were, OK. A lot of these filling primers have chemicals to give them loft, which is how they fill the gaps. This one, however, doesn't seem to harden very well once it's thick. This is very different than some of the Lacquer filling primers I've used which can be built up quite a bit then be sanded down. I will say though, that this primer builds easier than the lacquer primers I've used. This is, however, kind of useless since you don't want to build this stuff up.
On the flat surfaces where I didn't layer this a lot, it sanded nicely to a smooth surface. So, like I said, it's great for a scratch primer -- but it's nothing other than that.
It had started to develop little rust around the rear wheel wells. If you don't deal with rust, it slowly destroys the vehicle.
A couple of afternoons of sanding, puttying and painting and her car looks good. I won't lie and tell you it looks like a body shop, but I think we did a pretty good job.
Great to be able to find all the parts and supplies we needed in one place.

aside from the nozzle getting stuck, ruining what I was doing and making it so I can't even use this stuff, it was not really "filling" much of anything.Published 10 months ago by Andrew
