5.0 out of 5 stars Great military suspense novel
This is my second novel by Vicki Hinze and amazingly it outshone Shades of Gray.

When military lawyer Captain Tracy Keener is assigned to defend fellow officer Adam Burke, accused of treason, cowardiance and murder, she realizes this is career suicide. Everybody, including Tracy, knows that Captain Burke is guilty, but things may not always be what they seem. Adam...

3.0 out of 5 stars Needed More!
This is the second book I have read from Ms.Hinze and I was sorely dissappointed in this book. The 2 main characters seemed to have "fallen" in love without ever getting to know each other. I mean Tracey only visited Adam twice in prison and this was enough to risk everything for him? I think that Ms. Hinze has a great future but really needs to work on...

Adam tells Tracy that he has been set up and so has she. Not believeing him, she searches for answers. When Tracy uncovers some proof to what Adam is telling her, Adam mysteriously dies in a fire.

Haunted and feeling guilty for Adam's death, Tracy risks her life to find the answers. In the meantime, love blossoms from an unexpected source.

This book was great! If you love a legal thriller-throw in some romance-this is the book for you!

I mean Tracey only visited Adam twice in prison and this was enough to risk everything for him? I think that Ms. Hinze has a great future but really needs to work on developing relationships between her main characters. The story was very compelling in the beginning and lost steam at the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Duplicity is daring, dazzling, and a definite keeper!, March 4, 1999
By A Customer

Hinze has REALLY done it this time! DUPLICITY is the best romantic suspense I've ever read. Fast-paced, well-researched, with a plot so real you'll think you're reading tomorrow's headlines, DUPLICITY has characters with such honor and depth you'll find yourself glowing with renewed respect and awe for the women and men who put their lives on the line every day to protect us all. Kudos, Ms. Hinze, for reminding us of all we should be as Americans. I can't wait to read ACTS OF HONOR due out in January 2000. With the Y2K scare infiltrating the media, it's nice to know I can start the next millenium with a fabulous new book!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is what women's suspense is all about !, February 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Duplicity (Mass Market Paperback)
Ms. Hinze does her usual good stuff--edge of your seat suspense, well-drawn characters, tight pacing, interesting storyline, and a romantic subplot--but what makes her military thrillers truly great is her knack for plot twists. Just when you think you know what's next, wham, you never see it coming. Even when you read her books a second time, you get so wrapped up in the story that you forget what's next and have to keep reading.

As fast-paced as Grisham and much better at relationships. Kept me reading on and on. Can't wait for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A well written piece of suspense and romance., June 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Duplicity (Mass Market Paperback)
Mrs. Hinze has incorporated the two types of literature I like to read --suspence and romance. Her use of the military as a setting makes the story more believable. I have read both her novels Shades of Gray and Duplicity. I was involved and inraptured in both novels up to the very end. Mrs. Hinze, please keep writing these types of books because I can guarantee you will always have an avid reader for your stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hinze scores again!, February 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Duplicity (Mass Market Paperback)
I've been a big fan of Ms. Hinze's since her days as Victoria Cole and Victoria Barrett. I especially loved her last book, Shades of Gray, which turned her from a really good storyteller into superstar. Duplicity, which is even better than her last book, proves Ms. Hinze is here for the long haul. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Thank God for Amazon! I loved Hinze's first, Shades of Gray, but I missed it in the stores when it was out. I went hunting for this book and other Hinze thrillers and was so glad to find them here. Amazon and Hinze both have a big fan in me. Can't wait for Acts of Honor. I'm pre-ordering now because I want to be first, first, first to read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart-pounding page-turner!, May 22, 1999

I love thrillers but they don't always work for me becausethe characters don't seem real. Not so in this book. I felt their pain and joy and bit all my nails to the quick trying to see how Tracy would get out of this one. This is John Grisham meets A Few Good Men. Riveting!
