"This is a novel and a teaching/learning tool--very unique in that way. I just love all that I have read. Frederick Douglas Harper, I appreciate your mastery of "the style of good novel writing." I'm under 300 pages, because I like to read some sections twice. I like the way they read!! I've noted that the author's style in this novel makes me feel as if I'm somewhere in the same room with the characters (dressed up and standing right next to them). When Dr. Durabone (the main character) asked Dorothy (his wife, a barrister) if she wanted champagne, I answered, "Yes, thank you . . . ." Great style and attention to detail . . . puts the reader right in the restaurant, right on the highway, right on the sofa--resisting the touches, affection, and advances, and right in the audience hanging on to every word of Dr. Durabone's luncheon speech about "Total Body Management."
Dr. Harper, you really did it. I have to remind myself of how much insight you had to have, in so many areas to blend the plots, locations, characters, settings, etc., into this exciting novel. Developing your plans for each of the characters, chapters, and settings, the nuances and innuendoes, and putting everything on paper is quite an accomplishment. Some aspects of this book are complex. However your style, always brings me back to the real understanding of what you are setting forth. In some ways, I'm amazed at the skill in which you have woven the entities in this story; there is not a dull moment of reading. I've read many of your other works and applaud you for now including a novel among your writings."

This story is captivating from the very beginning to the end. The author did a superb job of creating characters with realistic personalities and real life problems and dilemmas. Finally, a fictional story that highlights Northern Virginia, particularly Alexandria. You will find that the chapters are clear and very detailed to the point where you feel as though you are a part of the storyline. If you like multi-plot stories, this is the book for you. There's romance, violence, suspense, drama, and pure innocent family themes all wrapped up in one book. You are sure to be satisfied while reading the Durabone Prophecies!!!!

The Durabone Prophecies is one of the best books that I have ready in a very long time. Once you begin reading the book it becomes very difficult to put it down because of the suspense. It arouses very strong emotions in the reader, that keeps vacillating between the various characters. I became emotionally connected to one of the characters. Certain parts of the book made me feel that the book was about my life story. I read parts of the book while I was living in Washington DC, and I easily identified with some of the locations. Some parts of the book were so hilarious. that I would have to contain myself from laughing out while reading the book on the train in New York. This book is definately awesome and a must read for anyone looking for a good book. Don't be intimidated by the size of the book, it is definately needed to complete the story. I can't wait for a follow up to the Durabone Prophecies.
