It was great until it blew my adapters,

This review is from: Duracell 100W Mobile Inverter with USB Port (Automotive)
This is a convenient TYPE of item to own with all the electronics we cart around with us. I would not recommend this particular one. It was great for the six months that I used it until it blew out my car adapters. Coincidentally (or maybe not) the warranty is only for six months. So, there was nothing I could do. Not only that, Duracell does not actually manufacture this product. When I opened it and read the fine print, I found out that it was some other little known company called Xantrex who is using Duracell's name with permission. I certainly wouldn't have bought it if was branded Xantrex. It was not worth the damage it did to my vehicle.

it somehow pushes itself out of the socket...not sure if that's it's way of preventing overload? And, the flex neck doesnt move, it's just a 'fixed' flex

This device was very helpful on a 20 hour drive. We used it to power a portable DVD player for my child. It worked flawlessly as expected.

I used this on a car trip from South Florida to New Jersey. It worked PERFECT. The device never got hot while in use (I was worried it would get hot and shut off on it's own to cool down). It barely even felt warm. It worked perfect. I was so happy. I had speakers plugged in to the electric outlet and I had my cell phone plugged in to the usb outlet. The only thing that would have made this better was if it also had another cigerette lighter so that I could have plugged my gps in to. The car I was driving only had 1 cigerette outlet and that was taken by this inverter.

I use this to run household Christmas lights on my roofrack. Brightens up the season. A few zip ties & an extension cord.

I've had several of these made by other companies, when those broke I didn't want to buy another from those companies. Some didn't work unless the car was on (14V when on, 12V when off). Some had noisy fans. Others where cheaply built and bulky, (but not cheap in price). This Duracell 100W has none of those problems. I used it to charge/run my large laptop (120V), and charge several phones (USB), while on a week long road trip. I had to push hard to fit all the way into the 12V socket in the car (This isn't bad, because it doesn't fall out when you don't want it too). I liked it so much, that I've since purchased a second identical unit.

It does what it is supposed to do. Plus it is small and compact. I would definitely recommend this product.

Make sure to UNPLUG IT WHEN YOU'RE NOT USING IT!!,

This inverter is very convenient, BUT Make Sure to unplug this inverter (or any other inverters or GPS and so on) from your car if you're not charging any units. We did not know, but KEEPING THIS KINDS OF UNITS PLUGGED IN THE CAR ALL THE TIME WILL DRAIN YOUR CAR BATTERY!! We learned it in a hard way. One of our cars did not start after not driving for one week (The car is a few years old.) After we did some research, we found out that keeping the inverters or any other kinds of units plugged in all the time will drain the car battery. I think all manufactures should warn of this including GPS manufacturers

Didn't fit, regardless of adjustments.,
This review is from: Duracell 100W Mobile Inverter with USB Port (Automotive)
Despite adjusting the width of the contacts, this inverter didn't fit in the DC outlets of 3 separate cars (the issue was length, not width). Looking carefully through prior reviews, it seems that this has occurred in other cases. Perhaps what's needed is some sort of central list that includes which makes/models are compatible with this product. Extremely disappointing for something that should be universal.

This one will not fit to some of the cigareet lighter port. I need to use extension adaptor to use it. Quiet and warm, well .. a little bit hot. I use this to power my macBook Pro and iPad in the car. This is not made by Duracell, but under license. Quality is not bad. Using for more than a week, and no problem. I would pay five star if this one fit to cigarett lighter port of my Honda Accord and Chevy Ventura.
