1.0 out of 5 stars Get rechargeable ones instead of these
Don't buy so many of these alkalines, they will end up in a dump and harm the environment. Plus they cost a lot of money.

For lower cost than this you can get NiMH AA batteries, they can be recharged upto 1000 times and offer better battery life.

So getting rechargeable ones will a) save you money b) save the environment.

4.0 out of 5 stars I think thi sis the better value, May 16, 2003

Okay the regular AA coppertop costs about thirty five cents a battery while the new ultra ones, on their best day, cost about eighty seven cents per battery. These new ones do not last more than twice as long, in fact, i don't even think they make it that far for most things.

Keep the new technology, regular is better

Even after shipping batteries are well under 50 cents each. Can't beat it. (They're good through 2008, too. So You have plenty of time to use them us.)
