5.0 out of 5 stars Recent production batteries...not factory surplus apparently
I'm pretty used to buying batteries online and finding they had been made long before I ordered them (had some CR123 with experations the next month from another vendor). In at least my case, my batteries from this vendor show a production date of 3/30/10...and I ordered them on April 18th. You can't get any younger batteries (exp is Mar2016). I'll be checking this...

1.0 out of 5 stars All dead
Batteries came in two packages. I opened 1 pack and every single battery was completely dead! And no I did not put them in backwards...lol I actually looked! :) I put the old batteries back into the pop light that had gone dim and the light glowed, tried 4 more 'new' batteries and nothing. I tested the whole pack and not 1 worked. The exp date on the batteries still have...

I got these about three weeks ago, and still haven't used them up yet. So many batteries. Awesome. So far, they've lasted about four times as long in my Canon digital point-and-shoot than my Energizer rechargeables. And they're on track to outperform the regular Energizers in my Xbox controllers. I think I'm a coppertop convert. The price is pretty good, too--probably not the absolute cheapest, but these are real Duracells (not knockoffs) that are far from their expiration date.

Sending back and will just buy more when I'm out shopping. I may be paying more, but at least they will work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Duracell batteries at an Amazon price, May 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If you check out local stores, you will find these are at least a bit below retail sales price for these batteries. Batteries will always be around the same price, but a few dollars off is worth getting them through Amazon!

1.0 out of 5 stars Dead Batteries, June 21, 2011

I purchased these batteries a couple months ago from Amazon.com and used them in a childs toy. They didn't work. My first thought was it must be the toy. I tried another toy and same thing happened. Then a third and fourth. Batteries seem drained. I have no idea what the problem is. Duracell is normally a good brand so maybe these are fake Duracell or very old? Just letting you know my experience with them. Judge for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars ideal 9-volt batteries, December 18, 2007

Duracell makes a great battery; and the "CopperTop" version of these 9-volt size batteries does indeed last longer than pervious types of 9-volt batteries by Duracell. These batteries always last a good long time after I install them in a smoke alarm I have.

Of course, these 9-volt batteries can be used in anything that requires them--not just smoke alarms. Moreover, the reclosable storage pack actually does close neat and clean for you so that the batteries remaining inside the package don't get dusty or exposure to any elements if you're outside camping or something.

Use these batteries before their expiration date. The expiration date will always be several years into the future; but some people still have them lying around in a dresser drawer anyway. The problem is not only do they lose their potency; the batteries also begin to corrode.

Do NOT dispose of these or ever place these in or near a fire. They could indeed explode. I wouldn't carry them loose either--they should be protected in their cardboard case or they should be already installed in your smoke alarm, your tape recorder or whatever device you placed them into.

Overall, these Duracell CopperTop 9-volt size batteries are the ones to choose if you need 9-volt size batteries. I highly recommend them for any device that needs 9-volt size batteries.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for fire alarms!, August 5, 2009
By
Although I'm sure my local fire department will cringe if they read this, I buy these things for our backups for our fire alarms and they last over 4 years! Wow! Now if I buy a knockoff brand, or even Energizer, I can only get 18 months out of them before they start squealing to be replaced. Plus, this 8 battery pack makes it awfully simple to have them around when it comes time to change them, and it's the right number for my house. Love these Duracells! Highly, highly recommend!

1.0 out of 5 stars The package seal was opened!! :(, December 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Just received my shipment (Duracell AAA Alkaline Batteries, 20 Count). When I opened the shipment (the outer brown box was packed fine), I noticed that the manufacturer's package (that is supped to be sealed) was opened from one corner. The slit is big enough for someone to take-out/replace the batteries. I never had issues with Amazon before, this one leaves a bad taste in my mouth. very disappointed.

The 4 batteries arrived in 4 small ziplocs rather than in sealed Duracell packaging as shown in the picture. I have no idea if they are new or used.
