3.0 out of 5 stars Shorter Life than Expected
I purchased these to power my Apple Magic Mouse. With regular AA batteries, my mouse was powered for about one month. These rechargeable AA batteries are holding up about 10 days. A bit of a disappointment but I guess that is the tradeoff for being able to reuse them over and over. Charging is quick and my devices are operating just as they did with non-rechargeable...

Rechargeable batteries have gotten a bad rap in the past, with older nicad technology that was more trouble to use with their memory effect and low amperage. They just didn't last as long, or were not easy to use.

Now with NiMH rechargeables and more sophisticated chargers, it's a no brainer to convert over to this newer technology. High drain devices like digital cameras are a great example of where NiMH really shine. I take picture after picture with flash and review photos on the built in LCD and I don't worry about these duracells running out. 1,800 milliamps will last a long time.

For trips/outings where I'll be taking hundreds of shots, I just get an extra set that I can charge and have ready. No more wasting money on disposable batteries! Some travel chargers are really small, and you don't have to wait for it to charge overnight anymore, they charge in a few hours now.

For other devices that use AAA's like FRS radios, the smaller version of these duracells will take a beating and you will save lots of money compared to buying disposable batteries.

I used these to replace the batteries for my Archos Jukebox mp3 player. They last about 2.5 hours longer than the batteries it came with and recharge in my jukebox without any problems.

These batteries come CHARGED (some don't).

4.0 out of 5 stars Needs an accurate description, April 19, 2008

The picture for this item is misleading. I bought this item in April 2008 so this review is accurate as of then.

From the battery (4 in the pack):

Duracell Rechargeable 2650mAh
AA/HR6/DC1500 NiMH/1,2V
Standard charge 270mA for 16h/Check polarity/Made in Japan

From the packaging:

AA/HR6/DC1500
Duracell Rechargeable 2650mAh
"100's of photos per charge"
NiMH Battery

So far the batteries are working fine in my Fuji FinePix 2600Z and my Logitech MX-700 mouse. I'll edit this review if that changes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Knockout price for the best rechargeable brand, December 10, 2011
This review is from: Duracell DC1500B4N AA NiMH Duracell Rechargeable Batteries, (4 Batteries) (Health and Beauty)
Can't say enough here about how these are a great value and Amazon regularly lists Duracells way below retail pricing even after you factor in shipping costs. On retailer shelves these Duracells are often a few dollars more expensive than every other brand stocked, indicating that either Duracell doesn't work as hard at locking in competitive shelf represetation or they are naturally more valued by buyers/sellers. You decide.

These Duracells have been my rechargeable AA and AAA batteries of choice for four years now. I've only had one bad 4-pack of AAA's in this time and this was due to shelf-life and happened years ago. I find no significant differences in performance between the specific country origin indicated by white/green/black topped batteries as other reviewers have noted. All the Duracells I've tried have hold their charge significantly longer than other competing brands. If I buy the pre-charged type they still retain most of that at pruchase, and if I put a heavy constant load on the batteries they always meet or exceed their specs. I've left them in remote controls for years and they've held their charge way longer then expected at less-than-regular use.

Only gave them a four star rating due to a history of labeling changes on the packaging as well as on the side of the actual battery. Now that they've lately settled on the "coppertop" look to BOTH their rechargeable batteries and the non-rechargeable ones... I've mistakenly sent for recycling some perfectly good and expensive rechargeables as if they were the cheapo single-use type! Only have to do that once before you feel a twinge of brand resentment. (they moved away from a highly dissimilar design in previous gen battery casings a few years back, I'm hoping this is something they return to asap)

Got a second set just a few days ago.
First set is excellent, they seem to perform far beyond their spec. I use them in external flash for photography and they last aaaa llooot longer then any battery that I've ever used (excluding non-rechargeable Duracell), used them for over 8 months too ... charged at least once a week, they still seem to go strong (though I rarely fully drain them, that's usually good to keep the battery in shape).

Used Energizer as well ... but they didn't seem to last as long (granted only used one kind and tried a few Duracells before settling on these).

Also, I don't use Duracell charger, it's some crappy no name charger that came with some other crappy no name batteries I started with, but they don't last long enough in photo flashes, so I retired them.

I'm not going to talk about benefits of rechargeable, if you haven't gotten on board with using rechargeable, get over it, single use batteries are so 1990s ...

A bit of a disappointment but I guess that is the tradeoff for being able to reuse them over and over. Charging is quick and my devices are operating just as they did with non-rechargeable batteries, with the exception of longevity. I will be buying more of these, but might checkout reviews on other brands first.

Just got these over the weekend. The picture is completely inaccurate, and the batteries could be grey market or recycled (Made in Singapore). It came in a little plastic clear box, I mean these could be old batteries someone had in the past and repackaged.

3.0 out of 5 stars Old Product same price as Walmart, June 12, 2009

I was not pleased at the condition of the packaging, all dusty and packaging looked old and worn out, as if it was setting on a display for years almost like they were used before, but i'm sure they were not.

But with that said, Duracell makes a great product and they seem to work well. I would purchase from Walmart, or other retail store in the future,I only bought them from here because I had a gift certificate and shipping was free. I think the company selling them just sells old beat-up packaged items at full retail prices.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Battery, long charge........, January 9, 2008
I have a Nikon D200 and sb600 flash, I do sports photography and a lot of it is go kart racing at night. I have to push my flash to the limit and use the highest setting possible. These batteries are great and last for a long time. Do they last for 500 pictures, not hardly when you use them like I do. But I hardly doubt that the "500 photos" on the package are aimed for consumers like me. In a small digital camera possible. One thing that will make these batteries end up being recycled themselves is using a super high powered charger (or leaving them in devices). I thought purchasing the 15 minute charger with the car adapter would be good cause I'm on the road a lot and instead of purchasing more batteries just recharge the ones I've got. Bad idea. Stick with the 4-6 hour charger and only use the fast chargers in read dire need. They drain the life out of your batteries and fast.
