5.0 out of 5 stars Works just as advertised!!
My car, an Audi TT, for some unknown reason, sucks the juice out of it's own battery when it's sitting idle. $1,450.00 later, the Audi dealership tells me he still can't find anything wrong. After replacing the battery 7 times so far, I decided to buy a solar battery charger that plugs into my cigarette lighter. Trouble is, it did not keep up with the "unknown"...

3.0 out of 5 stars Work if the battery is not dead
The manual says"This Instant Jump Start system is designed to work if the vehicle's starter clicks or the engine turns over too slowly to start". It will not work if the battery is dead.

Trouble is, it did not keep up with the "unknown" discharge factor. I guess I need to buy a larger unit but where is one that uses a cigarette lighter plug in? So I bought this car starter to see if I could just plug it into my cigarette lighter and recharge the battery while I sat in the drivers seat. It works beautifully!!! After charging the Duracell DJUMP Emergency starter for 24 hours like it says in the instructions, I plugged it into the car's lighter. As instructed, 10 minutes later the little light clicked on to tell me the car battery was charged. Yehhhhhhh! My car starts up every time I have to do this....which is almost all the time. This unit needs to be recharged for 24 hours after each use and once a month if not used. It's so frustrating not having my gorgeous 8 year old car start everytime but at least now I just need to prepare before hand and I'm set to go. I hate attaching the clips of other chargers to the battery so this is perfect. It can rain or sleet or snow outside but I'm comfortable in my driver's seat waiting for the recharge to start the engine. I highly recommend this item for those who need and prefer a clean, simple recharging system. It really works great. Now I'll have to see how well it continues to work with time and usage!

This product has been used at least 40 times this winter when my engine would not turn over. I had the same problem after I had the car battery replaced with a new one. I'm glad I had this product and have purchaed another one for my 94 Voyager.
Denise.

This product was unable to provide enough charge to start my Passat that had sat idle too long. I fully charged the unit and followed all directions. When it was unable to start the car, I pulled out the old jumper cables and it started up immediately. I suspect this product will only work on very small cars, not mid-size. It's a nice flashlight and is useful to recharge cell phones and such when not near an outlet.

A bad thing is that this one is not very powerful. Good for small cars.

I've now tried it three times on two different cars: a Kia and an Audi A4. Did exactly what the instructions said and the thing wouldn't start. Had to revert back to the good ol' jump-startin'. Bah! I wonder if I can get my money back.
