4.0 out of 5 stars Good small battery, the new model might be worth waiting for
This seems like a good small reserve battery. One nice plus is it is the smallest and lightest reserve battery I have owned. It uses a standard mini-usb connector so you can charge it through a USB port or any of the many wall adaptors you probably have.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible
DO NOT buy this one, this is the 1st gen of the duracell instant so this one is 1000mah while the 2nd gen is 1150mah, how can I tell? This actual product states on the back a max of .8 amps current in, the website says 1.0 amps in. Not to mention they look entirely different. So if you care about that 150 mah like I do, don't buy this one, buy the 24.99$ one from...

This seems like a good small reserve battery. One nice plus is it is the smallest and lightest reserve battery I have owned. It uses a standard mini-usb connector so you can charge it through a USB port or any of the many wall adaptors you probably have.

To get an idea of the capacity of this device it provieds 1000mAh at 5 volts, a Nintendo DS Lite is 800mAh at 3.7V and a typical Motorola phone is 900mAh at 3.7V. So, one would expect the Duracell to about double the run time of any of these products (provided you have a USB charger for them). Note a typical high capacity NiMH battery is 2400mAH, at 1.2 volts. The power available in these devices in Wh or V*A.

This battery is a great size to carry with you all the time. It should provide enough additional power for that emergency phone call, or to power a PDA if you still have one.

One may want to wait for the next model; it has twice the capacity 2000mAh and a charge indicator http://www.duracell.com/us/smartpower/products_PowerReserve.asp. I expect it will probably cost more as well. If you need even more capacity today you can get a 3400mAh device http://www.amazon.com/Proporta-30423-USB-TurboCharger-3400/dp/B002DYGQI6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1253240582&sr=8-1.

I bought this battery to use on road trips for my Ipod Touch. It charges the Ipod several times over and is great to have. I cannot say enough how nice this charger is to have.

5.0 out of 5 stars This battery is great! Small and easy to use/travel with!, May 28, 2008
This review is from: Duracell Instant Power Charger for USB Compatible Devices (Personal Computers)
This battery is so easy to use and travel with. I got it as a gift and I plan to give these as gifts or stocking stuffers as well. I no longer bring my chargers for my cell phone, iPod or digital camera with me when I travel. I can just keep this battery charged and then power my phone iPod or other devices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product, July 18, 2008
This review is from: Duracell Instant Power Charger for USB Compatible Devices (Personal Computers)
What a cool gadget! I brought this on a camping trip with me and I used it to charge my iPod and cell phone (I know - so much for roughing it!). It was nice to have one thing that could charge everything rather than having to bring a bunch of chargers with me. Plus, since it didn't need to be plugged into the wall to work it made it great for traveling. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends.

This small charger is very handy to have if your cellphone, PDA or MP3 player runs out of juice and you don't/can't recharge.

This has got me through 10 hour flights, it's an excellect product. It provides several hours of play time on the ipod/itouch and has also saved me during long calls while out of the office.

My friends and family will be receiving this as their Christmas stocking stuffer this year.

I like it, it's small and light enough to take during traveling! Then only con I think is the power, it can't charge my iphone 3G battery fully for once. Given the price and the size and weight, I still highly recommend this one!

This battery charged my iPhone 3GS (which has a larger capacity battery than earlier iPhones) from a 40% charge up to a 95% charge. Based on the size and the cost of this battery, I'm happy with that.

This will charge an IPhone a couple of times fully with one charge from a USB port. Very slim and light.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back-up Blackberry Power Rocks!, July 27, 2008
This review is from: Duracell Instant Power Charger for USB Compatible Devices (Personal Computers)
Plug the cord into your USB port, and the unit fills up with enough "gas" to re-charge your Blackberry or USB-compatible phone or MP3 player on the go. No more hunting for an outlet, then waiting for a few zaps of electro-charge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lifesaver for my music, April 13, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Duracell Instant Power Charger for USB Compatible Devices (Personal Computers)
This little device is great. Totally saved my MP3 player from silent oblivion on a recent long road trip. I have a Creative Zen and it gave me 2 full charges (about 40 hours of music total). Definitely recommend to anyone who has a power-hungry device that charges via USB. It's easy to use, charges pretty fast and is very compact and light. I would recommend getting a 110V AC --> USB adapter (like the kind that comes with an iPhone) if you're using it a lot, because it will charge faster when plugged directly into a wall outlet. USB ports on a computer don't have that much power, and if you only have an hour or so to charge up you can get a lot more mileage if plugged into the wall. iPhone adapters are $40 or something insane like that, so just search here on Amazon or Google or wherever. Should only be $10 or so.

Happy charging!
