"The Access Case not only protects the iPhone 5, it lets you drop and go charge on any Power Mat (sold separately) or our growing network of wireless charging surfaces. Enjoy wireless charging at home, the office or at public charging spots. Combine with the Snap Battery (sold separately) for backup power on the go. The Access Case is part of the Duracell Power mat Wireless Charging Collection. It's iconic in both form and function. Simply insert your iPhone 5 to enable wireless charging and protect your phone. The two part design allows easy access to the connector -just grasp the copper tab to remove or insert the bottom frame. Its slim, sleek form is a triumph of advanced engineering, lightweight material and design -it's at least 20% thinner than previous Duracell Power mat cases. The Access Case is the essential item in the collection. With it, charging is as simple as setting your iPhone 5 down on any Power Mat (sold separately) or other PMA compatible wireless charging surface. Drop. Charge. Go. You can also add instant power in a snap with the Snap Battery (sold separately). Welcome to wireless charging! The smart, easy way to stay charged. Duracell Power mat products are compatible with the PMA (Power Matters Alliance) standard. PMA is the standard for smart and environmental wireless power backed by AT&T, Starbucks, P&G, Power mat and dozens of global leaders, and deployed at leading venues including in select Delta Air Terminals and Delta Sky Clubs, Westfield Malls, at Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center and in Jay-Z's 40/40 Club. The first two started cracking on me and fell apart (never had that happen before).

Must remove bottom part of case to use the apple lighning USB adaptor to charge the phone if a wireless charging mat is not available.

I was very unhappy from day one but foolishly kept it anyway - now a month later it has completely stopped working.

I have no idea what powermat was thinking when they designed this case. The open portion on the bottom of the case screams break me. The fact that you have to take the case apart in order to charge the phone in your car with a car charger is just stupid. The powermat case for the Iphone 4s has a micro usb port that you can charge the phone while the case is still on the phone. Why they didnt keep this design does not make sense to me. I will NEVER recommend this case to anyone.

Love the idea of this product! Worked well until the case started to crack. Could not get any response from Duracell. Would love to have them replace the case.

I love powermat. And for that reason I cannot upgrade to an iPhone5s. I'm just not willing to give up my iPhone 4S's wireless charging capability. I cannot go back to plugging in a cord on a daily basis. I have a collection of powermats in two houses and at the office for my iphone4s and my wife's Galaxy S3 (which by the way is a great case vs iphone 5s).

Though the previous cases were not without their flaws, they were minimal. But the gap on the iPhone 5 case was intentional and they have the guts to it "design". There's someone on YouTube and here that's tries to push us to believe that we as consumer don't understand the design and how great it is. I have a weird feeling he/ she works for them. To me I see that gap thing as a way for them to save money by not having to put in a micro USB pass through. Having to take an important part of the case off in order to plug it in is not what Powermat would've done if they hadn't merged with Duracell.

This new design is horrible, you can't charge it without the mat anymore, the previous one you could use the power mat and the cable charge, that give you the chance to charge it in the car or any other place even when you don't have a mat. Now I have to take off the bottom part to charge it.. And the bottom part is very delicate so I you are not careful it would broke. Another thing I don't like is the gap between the phone and the case..(what for?) it doesn't look cool and its not practical at all...... It sucks... And I used to LOVE powermat.

I have been very pleased with the older Powermat product that I used with my iphone 4/4S.

The first time this was shipped to me it arrived with a corner chipped off. The packaging was intact with no evidence of tampering or external damage. Seems like a light tap was enough to crack the thin plastic shell. I sent it back to Amazon who sent me an intact product within a few days (Bravo Amazon!)

The second one worked for a few days. I noted that matching up the induction coils between the case and charging base required a lot of nudging and adjustment. After a few days I could no longer charge the phone with the case. I know the base worked fine as I was able to couple it to my older powermat 4S case easily.

I am out $50

This is the 3rd Powermat case I've had for an iPhone 5. The first two started cracking on me and fell apart (never had that happen before). But I liked the wireless charging so much I stuck with it. However, see the picture I posted, after a single drop of my new iPhone 5s 64g, the face shattered. I've dropped many iPhones before with similarly designed cases, but I've never had damage to the phone until now and with this case and its brittle plastic. If you need some protection for your phone, I'd pass on this version.

The upside is that it grabs the connection when you lay it down on the new Duracell-owned pads where the old cases took multiple attempts to connect. The downside is the crazy deal at the bottom that makes it much longer than the old design and tight in pouches. It's also a little less durable I think because it's then around edges and mine cracked first time I dropped it.

i bought this from Powermat, before Amazon sold them. i got the kit including the case, charger and detachable battery. great concept, horrible design. i loved the iPhone 4 version, it was not a great case either but it worked as other have noted. this design should never have been released. it's too long and the bottom piece comes off easy. charging cases are never great protectors of phones but this one just sucks so badly in every respect i wish i never bought it and may dump the entire system just to rid myself of it. it is butt ugly too. shocked such a big company let this go to market.
