The Power to Get the Job Done Safely

The heart of the Duracell Powerpack 450 is a sealed, non-spillable 17 ampere-hour AGM battery. The Powerpack can be safely and conveniently recharged from any household AC outlet or DC cigarette-lighter outlet, making it ready to go whenever you need it. This robust battery is tied to a power inverter that provides 450 watts of power to its two grounded AC outlets, one USB-port and one DC socket. Multiple outlets give you the flexibility and convenience to operate several appliances at once, while the 3-digit barograph LED indicator dynamically monitors the Duracell Powerpack's battery charge level. Internal circuitry ensures long inverter life by protecting against overload and over-temperature conditions. Powerpack 450 comes with a unique on-demand voice instruction and system status feature which provides information on the usage of jump-starter and air compressor as well as battery charging status and estimated runtime of AC applications.

On-The-Go Emergency Protection

The Powerpack 450's 17-amp battery can jumpstart most 6-cylinder engines with its included jumper cables. A reverse polarity detector further ensures your safety by disallowing power transfer in the event that the jumper cables are connected to the incorrect battery terminals. Built-in air compressor makes Powerpack 450 a valuable companion in case of a flat tire on the road. Duracell Powerpack 450 also provides ample power to recharge cordless and cellular telephones. At the same time, it can operate radios, televisions and a wide range of DC-powered products, while the built-in emergency light provides extra illumination to keep you out of the dark and to signal to others if you are stranded.

Perfect for Outdoor Adventures

From remote job sites to the family picnic, Duracell Powerpack's portability makes it an excellent choice for any outdoor adventure. It is strong enough to run power tools and equipment in the wilderness. The 450-watt power inverter also lets you bring some of the comforts of home to your campsite or outing. Small appliances, portable coolers, laptops, televisions and gaming consoles will run for hours. Duracell Powerpack 450 means you'll never be left in the dark. If planning a longer trip without an access to a traditional power source, small, unregulated 12 V solar panels, rated to produce a maximum of 2.5 A (or 30 W), can be used to charge the Duracell Powerpack through the AC charger input socket. Please refer to users' manual for instructions.

Comes Equipped with Everything You Need

The Duracell Powerpack 450 includes several convenient accessories. Compatible jumper cables allow you to jump start your vehicle. The AC adapter recharges the unit from any standard wall outlet and stows away inside the unit when not in use. Multiple nozzle adapters ensure the possibility to inflate a variety of items from car tires to footballs. A versatile accessory bag is also included for storage.

* CA = Cranking Amps: the amount of current an automotive battery can deliver for 30 seconds at 32° F, without dropping below a specified cut-off voltage (usually 10.5 volts).
**CCA = Cold Cranking Amps: the amount of current an automotive battery can deliver for 30 seconds at 0° F, without dropping below a specified cutoff voltage (usually 10.5 volts).

Note: When selecting a jump-starter the CCA performance rating should meet or slightly exceed, you vehicle manufacturer's recommendation OR it should be suitable for the coldest temperatures in your climate.

Note: When selecting a jump-starter, do not base you decision on the manufacturer's noted "Peak Amps." High peak amp value does not guarantee the performance of the jump-starter. Refer to CA and CCA values instead and align them with your vehicle manufacturer's specifications.

Works fine. It comes with 1/2 charge. Don't use it. Follow the instructions and give it that first long charge and it will work fine. I am in the country so a low tire can become a real issue. I just went out with the machine and topped off a low tire no problem. I had to try the electric because it goes out here from time to time. I plugged in a lamp and it ran for 6hrs. and 15 mins. And I am guessing it will run heat tape for 10 hrs or more. Important when you lose power at 10 below. And I feel confident if I have a low car battery this will work as advertised. Just to be able to get a car started at 5 in the morning and not be late for work is worth the purchase price. And the real reason I wanted it was for in the spring and during the summer for the lawn tractor. Every year at least one tire is low. And every year I get at least one slow leak 5 mins. before being done. This year I am ready.

I am very impressed with this product. It is a perfect companion in outdoor fun and emergency. I used it outdoors to power music system and charge my cell phone. It has AC/DC outlets and a USB port that can charge a vareity of electronic devices.

Air compressor and detachable jumper cables are very handy. Infact, I used air compressor to inflate my tires and it worked well.

Oh! not to forget its user-friendly voice technology for step-by-step instructions.

Go for it, you will not regret having it!

I bought this item as a Gold Box deal and was somewhat doubtful how well it will work since it received below average reviews. But I decided to give it a shot and knowing that amazon has a great return policy, I knew there was nothing to lose. So once it came, I carefully followed and read the manual making sure to do what it says. It requires a good thorough charge of I believe 2 days (48hrs) and then after using it, it requires another 36hrs of a charge, which isnt bad assuming that it wont be used on a daily basis ofcourse. So after completely reading the manual, I left it charging but no later than 1 hour, it says that the charge was complete. I was kind of confused at this point because it need a charge of 2 days. But never the less, I left it charging for 2 days realizing that it probably only is carrying an hours worth of battery life. So now I tested it out by using the flash light and the computered voice says that it will last for 2 hours long on flash light mode, when it was suppose to last much longer than that. This is where I knew something wasn't right. I charged it again hoping it will do something different but with no success, I decided on returning it. The return was very easy, since it was a faulty device, UPS came to pick it up at my door and I opted to get another one because I wanted it to work. So once I received the other powerpack, it was the same and similar problem that it wouldn't carry a sufficient charge during the initial set up. Again, after the first charge, no more than 2 hours, it says it is fully charged but when I tested the air supply unit, it last for only an 1 hour when it was suppose to last for much longer than that.Read more ›

This product is very good as it says what it says.
What I liked about this product is that you can replace the internal battery which will make it last even longer.
So I highly recommend this battery to anyone who needs some recharging.

I'm not sure about this Duracell 450 charger. I've had it a little over a year and it doesn't accept a charge anymore. The instructions say to charge it once every three months, but if you slip up and go a little longer, apparently you kill it. The internal battery is "user-replaceable" which means, I guess, you have to shell out more money for the most expensive part.

To be fair, I live in the southwest and it does get hot (up to 110-118 degrees summer temps), and I carried it around in the trunk of the car, which gets hot. I suppose this killed it. However, we people here in extreme temps need a jump start too, Duracell should come up with a more climate-resilient battery.

But, bottom line, the charger doesn't do anyone any good if it has to be coddled in a cool room somewhere and not carried around in the trunk of one's car! It's ridiculous to waste money on a car jump starter/tire inflater that will end up failing in a year or so because of extreme outdoor temps. And now, because of the time, I can't return it.

I'm just glad I, or anyone in my family wasn't stranded somewhere when it was discovered it doesn't work.

I had very mixed feelings about buying this Duracell product - probably because the reviews were so mixed. I bought it for a camping trip where I would need some limited electricity. The product arrived and I was very careful to follow all of the charging instructions. I let the product charge a full day longer than outlined in the product manual. When I finally turned it on, the compressor and the built-in light both worked. However, the battery would not power any of the electrical devices that I plugged into it - all of which were within the wattage/amp range of the device. I tried several items, including: a 60 watt lamp, a small air pump for my inflatable mattress, a small fan, and a laptop computer. The USB port did charge my iTouch iPod and my cell phone. I returned the product to Amazon within 30 days and they refunded my money.

The concept is a great concept - however the product did not live up to the hype - too bad, because I was really hopeful that it would have worked as described.
