I bought these batteries 2x8pack in early December 2008. The batteries are listed on Amazon as having 2300mah capacity, but the one they shipped were actually 2650mah. (That was the good news).

It was surprised that the batteries did not seem to hold charge for more than a few days... To be sure about this, I bought a La Crosse BC-900 charger and tested the batteries.
I refreshed and charged the batteries in many different ways. The number of cycles and the speed by which the batteries were charged/discharged did not seem to influence the measured capacity.
The BC-900 told me two things.
1) The true capacity is somewhat below the 2650 that is listed on the batteries. All were measured to be in the 2350-2570mah range.
2) The batteries loose their charge very quickly. Judging from betteries I had charge a week earlier, the batteries had lost about 50% in a week.

My conclusion is that these batteries are only valuable if you are using them in power intensive devices - devices that will use up the full capacity within days of them being charged.

It will be waste of your time to charge and store them for more than a week before use... These should be recharged right before use.

Called Duracell about the problem... and they were sufficiently helpful for me to add a second star to my rating.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't confuse those with Duracell 'Pre Charged' batteries, November 25, 2009
This review is from: Duracell Rechargeable AA NiMH Batteries, MIGNON/HR6/DC1500, 2450mAh, 8-Count Package (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I can't believe it! Just when we thought we've got the Duracell battery color scheme figured out, those folks at Duracell pulled another cheap trick out of their collective... hat!

To recall, here is the color scheme for Duracell AA/AAA batteries:
- Duracell alkaline cell has the famous 'copper top' and a black bottom
- Traditional Duracell NiMH (DC1500) cell is green and black in color
- Newer Duracell Pre Charged NiMH cell has a 'copper top' and a green/black bottom

The latest batch of rechargeable AA/AAA NiMH cells from Duracell all have the 'copper top' and green/black bottom, similar to that for 'Pre Charged' version. However, those cells don't say 'Pre Charged' on them. Instead, they have their capacity printed (2650mAh for Duracell DC1500 AA, 1000mAh for Duracell DC2400B4N AAA). It is important to know that: those are NOT the low-self-discharge type like Sanyo Eneloop. They are traditional NiMH cells, which have higher capacity but suffer from rapid self-discharge problem. So even though their prices may look attractive, those are no bargains.

Remember: "If it doesn't say 'Pre Charged', put it back!"

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Hold Charge, November 13, 2009

Read other reviews saying the batteries don't hold a charge. Used 5 other brands and never had a problem so thought I'd take a chance. Maybe it was a degree of expectations. Under any expectation, these batteries DO NOT HOLD A CHARGE. Great price, but not when they're worthless.

While this product is operating properly, it is NOT the product Amazon claimed on its page. These are 2450 MAH batteries, not the 2650 claimed. The ad now says,"2650mAh / 2450 mAh Ideal capacity; ideally suited for powering digital cameras." Don't be fooled! These are the lower capacity 2450 mAh batteries. The 8-pack of 2650 mAh sold by vendor M Z Photo contains the 2650 mAh.

I ordered two packs of these and they were 2450mah not 2650 ..
Of course Amazon is accepting a return, but it sure is a hassle and waste of my time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Charge doesn't last very long, March 12, 2010
This review is from: Duracell Rechargeable AA NiMH Batteries, MIGNON/HR6/DC1500, 2450mAh, 8-Count Package (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I specifically bought this item because i have a lot of battery operated items in my home which are used very frequently. Digital camera, wireless mouse & keypad, toothbrush, wii fit balance board, remote control helicopter, tv remote. It works well for the low power items like my mouse & keyboard (change them every 3 weeks), but for higher powered items, it is kind of a bust. I would charge batteries (like all day as it takes 4-6 hours)then when my husband comes home and we want to play Skate It on the Wii using the balance board, the batteries will last about 10 minutes and then tell me I need to recharge them. They last a week and a half in the toothbrush. I bought about 16 of these batteries over the holidays thinking it would solve my problem of always running out of batteries, but now, I am starting to think it's a whole other bag of frustration I've opened. I will not buy more of these, and look forward to finding a company that delivers what it promises. When I find a better product, I'll be sure to come back and write a review!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it, February 20, 2010

I bought a set of these (4) for my digital camera. Worst rechargeable batteries I've ever had. Once I charge them, they will loose their charge in about a week sitting on my desk.

I put them in my camera after charge then I take less then 10 pictures WITH flash. After a week I turn the camera on and the "Change Batteries" message already shows on my LCD.

i should have read more reviews before i purchase this item.
i bought these for Canon External Flash[580exii to be exact]. i go through batteries very fast. i used to have Duracell Rechargeable 2650(green and black) for my flash. and only having 2 sets (4 each) was able to last one night of photoshoot. but sadly ive been using those batteries for 2 + years and they are finally dying.
it was shipped with 2450mAh and not 2650
im thinking returning it now i read all the other reviews.

1.0 out of 5 stars Package open, January 19, 2012
This review is from: Duracell Rechargeable AA NiMH Batteries, MIGNON/HR6/DC1500, 2450mAh, 8-Count Package (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
It is the second time that i receive batteries from Amazon and the package is open. Can`t really say if the batteries have been used before. I disregarded it the first time, but it is getting frustrating...
If it wasn`t for that, all is was good- excellent shipping speed and amazon packaging.

1.0 out of 5 stars Highly dissappointed, November 26, 2011
This review is from: Duracell Rechargeable AA NiMH Batteries, MIGNON/HR6/DC1500, 2450mAh, 8-Count Package (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I had bought 3 packages of 4 (12 batteries) because I still have one old set of Duracell 2600"s which were good. These 2450's are consistently horrible, Within two weeks of a full charge and no use the batteries they measure in the red on a battery tester and they will not power my camera. My off brand batteries which I have had for 3 years are much better performers.
