5.0 out of 5 stars 2300mah shipped to ME
While the other reviewer complains about 2050mah and indeed that's how the Amazon description reads today, the package I received is copyrighted 2003 and the batteries read "AA/HR6/DC1500 NIMH/1.2v 2300mAh Standard charge 230mA for 16h". 3.0 out of 5 stars 2300 mAH made in China, February 2, 2006
This review is from: Duracell Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries 2650mAh, AA, 8/pk (Electronics)
I bought two packs and both were 2300 mAH made in China and not the 2500 mAH made in Japan some have reported. The 2500 mAH Duracell cells are made by Sanyo and are the best NiMH AA available. These aren't nearly as good.

They don't stand up to high discharge rates nearly as well as the 2500 mAH Duracell labelled Sanyo cells and deliver much less useable capacity when run hard.

They also appeared to have been maunufactured a while back and needed 5-6 charge/discharge cycles as initial capacity was very poor with large capacity differences between cells. Take off at least 1 star if you're not prepared to cycle them individually before use. If you don't, expect poor run times and short cell life since the lower capacity cells will be overdischarged and damaged.

Saved about $5 per pack over the 2500 mAH cells but frankly it wasn't worth it.

Unbeatable price, especially if you can get free shipping.
I got the 2650mAh made in Japan batteries. I'm chuffed to bits!

As an aside, I learned a valuable lesson recently.
When I first bought my digital camera I loaded it with some 2500 mAh NiMH batteries. I was extremely disappointed that I could only get about 30 pictures before the battery died. When I started to research battery chargers, I came to realize that not all chargers are created equal. Many older and even cheaper new chargers are not capable of fully charging high capacity batteries. This is because they use a timed charge which shuts off without regard for how much the battery is actually charged. So if you are still using a 3 or 5 year old charger and it isn't a "smart" charger, then you might only be getting a 50% or less charge. In my case, with an old Energizer charger, I reckon I was only getting a 30% charge.
Armed with these Duracell batteries and a new charger I can get a very impressive 250 to 300 pictures before the batteries die.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good brand for batteries, BAD for rechargeables, September 12, 2007

This review is from: Duracell Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries 2650mAh, AA, 8/pk (Electronics)
got fresh 2 4 packs at walmart, I use them regularly in a cordless mouse, in a flashlight, camera, recharge every mo or two when I run out. Aren't they supposed to be good for at least 500 cycles? anyways, 2 yrs later these hardly hold any charge. If I put them in a camera they are good for 10 shots, my mouse only lasts a few days. I tried to "reset" them by discharging completely and fully charging again.

So, to sum this up, it comes out to about $2/mo for using these, I would have saved a lot more $ by buying a 24 pack of regular AAs at Lowes for $5!

I also have 3 pairs of Chameleon and 2 sets of Kodak rechargeables. They seem to hold just fine in every application.

Even though I always liked Duracell for their regular batteries but they definitely suck at making rechargeables.

These Duracell batteries work well with evrything that I've used them in, they are each about $1.66 per battery and regular batteries are about .50 cents per battery but you can use them up to 1000 times so to me its a good deal.

Very disappointed in these particular Duracell rechargeables, the HR6 DC1500 series. I've purchased a 4-pack and 8-pack from two different sources and both have had individual batteries that would not hold a charge right out of the package. I have Duracell HR6 DX1500 series rechargeable batteries (the ones with the traditional "copper-top" look) and those have performed much better. I would recommend against buying the black and green ones.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not hold charge!!!, April 24, 2008
By
This review is from: Duracell Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries 2650mAh, AA, 8/pk (Electronics)
Having successfully used Energizer and Panasonic rechargeables I tried these because Duracell is supposed to be good and the price was competitive.

However they do not seem to last more than a dozen or so recharge/discharge cycles before they seem to stop holding a charge. i.e. I charge them and put them in my camera and can take just a few shots and they are done. If I let them sit a week or two after charging and then use them they are flat - i.e. they appear to discharge themselves when they are just sitting on the shelf.

Really disappointed Duracel - your alkaline batteries may be good but these are a BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Even Meets the Expectation with Quick Discharge, March 19, 2008
This review is from: Duracell Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries 2650mAh, AA, 8/pk (Electronics)
I bought new batteries and the first use did not last long. I thought it could be discharged by shelf time, so I fully recharged them, and the second use was even more disappointed. After about 10 shots, the Canon camera showed a low battery sign for the two AA batteries it used. Is this a brand of Duracell or Trashcell? Please also remember it has only 100 times rechargeable cycle, comparing to the regular NiMH's 1000 times.

Busted again, Duracell. Just to mention, in my home, the other non brand rechargeable batteries performed better than Ducecell ones.

I've used these batteries extensively since purchasing, always fully rechanged, no end in sight. Very pleased, considering an additional purchase. Already saved significantly since using rechargeable batteries, wish I had done it sooner.
