Duracell is the only name brand of three small battery chargers that stops charging when the batteries are charged. After trying the other two without good results, I purchased an older Duracell charger and solved my problem. This newer model Duracell charger is even better. You can charge one battery or four, AA and AAA at same time and each is regulated individually. Faster charge times, tells you when it can be used and when it is totally charged. Lets you know when a battery is bad and will not charge it. Great charger and price!!

I have been using the Duracell 15 Minute charger for years now. I know I shouldn't be using a rapid charger as my only source of recharging, as the slower you recharge a battery the better it is for its lifespan and capacity. I was debating between this and Energizer's model, but this one had more positive reviews.

I have been topping off all of my batteries all day, a mixture of Duracell and Rayovac AA and AAA, and I will say that it does a good job at recharging them. Having 4 independent channels helps identify a bad battery, and lets you know when one is fully charged. I had 4 Rayovac Platinum AAA batteries (used in my TI-86) which were completely flat. This charger brought them back to what I assume is full capacity, as I only needed contrast level 1, in about 30 minutes. All of the other batteries were charged in about the same period, except for 4 Rayovac Platinum AA which were also completely flat, which took the better part of an hour, so all within the stated time period.

There are a couple of downsides. One is that it does draw a large wattage at the start, close to 60w according to my P3 Kill-A-Watt, but it does taper off as the batteries get closer to their capacity, down to 5w with 4 AAAs with all channels blinking green (meaning ready to use, but not fully charged). Another downside is Duracell did ditch the separate power cord to the adapter brick and instead you plug the brick directly to the wall, which might be an issue to some people. Because it does use so much power, the batteries do get warm, topping out at around 80°F, while some parts of the charger close to where the power connector is passed 100°F. The charger does have false bad battery notifications.

I had my doubts on this charger, as it violates the laws of nimh charging at waaay over 1C. There is a straight up fan blowing directly onto the chargers which keeps them closer to room temp to compensate for this though. The adapter is 16v @ 3.75 amps which is ridiculous. My tenergy charger uses 12v @ .5 amps and does 4 batteries as well. That is 10x the wattage. But the regulation is solid, detecting good/bad cells and when a battery is high charge vs fully charged. Hmmm, i got this at double clearance so 1/4 the store price so im also taking that into consideration.

This duracell charger is a wonderful idea, but it has some problems. First off the charger is huge. In this time when we use our outlets it seems like it is a rare commodity. We have our phone chargers, Ipod chargers, laptop chargers, and not to mention lamps and other various household items that we have to have plugged in. This charger is really much too big to fit with all of these other items. It demands having a wall outlet to itself. If you try and plug it in to a surge protector it will take up at least two spots and maybe more depending on the way it has to go in.

As far as charging it does it well and is pretty quick to do the recharge, but just the size of this thing really takes it down from where it could be. I understand that it has to be big to be able to fit the batteries in it, but it just needs a little bit of a shave down on the top to make it more surge protector friendly.

Glad I paid a little extra for the 8k this thing really does recharge very quickly. with all the kids toys and wii controllers it paid for its self in the first week. I bought with it couple of extra packs of AA rechargeable batteries so that there are always a couple ready to go. I really believe these are value for money and so convenient. If you are considering making the switch from non-rechargeable don't waste your money on the cheap chargers and batteries.

I've had two of these. The first one I took back to the store because it randomly would fail to charge AAAs, though it worked with AAs. The second one performed the same way. After a couple of weeks, it won't charge AAs. What a piece of garbage, and Duracell customer service is dismal. I had an Energizer that worked for years and years, through multiple sets of AAAs...but they stopped making it. Duracell is no longer my brand after this.

I was looking for rechargeable packet, for long time. I did extensive research on whats available in the market. This charger is on of the great deals that provide super fast charging for different size batteries.
Its really economic and time saver. The cons that I think about, is the noise of the fan, but It doesn't bother me that much specially if i think about how fast I can get my batteries charged.

A much better 15 minute charger than the two Energizer ones I bought previously. The Energizer ones smelled like burning plastic and electronics and it never went away. This one isn't plagued by those same problems and feels/looks to be of better construction, overall. Who can argue with 15 minute charge times?
