I purchased this home as a project for my wife to give her something to do while i build my Tamiya trucks. Unfortunetly once she opened the box and saw what lay ahead the plan backfired as it became my project.Anyone one planing on buying this kit with no experience in building these types of kits or woodworking experience i would recommend taking a look at the pre-built kit its double the price but you will probably save yourself plenty of aggravation.I used to build cabinets back in the day for a living so was preety familiar with cutting sanding and working with wood. The kit comes with all pieces pre-cut laid down on 1/8 sheets of plywood. You must be very careful removing all pieces as they are very delicate.I used a chop saw to complete the kit but a hack saw will work aswell and is required unlike what the instuction say "coping or hacksaw is helpful". I also used carpenters wood glue as i am acustom to it but would recommend using a diffrent type krazy-glue or instant cement. You will have to cut and trim to size all mouldings and support post. One thing i found the kit lacking was supports for the bottom base walls i had to use 3/4 x 1" plwwood strips i had laying around to make the base stronger using only the corner post only leaves the base somewhat flimsy. After building the kit i used wood putty to fill in all the gaps and sanded the entire house with 100-320 grit sandpaper which i think is neccesary to acheive good results after painting. My wife was absolutely pleased with the kit once it was built.I would also not recommend this house for a child under 12 even if well built it is very delicate it can last a lifetime if treated with care great for collectors. For the price its definitely worth it.The house is quite large and once completed looks impressive. Over all i give it 4 stars and for 50 bucks you can't go wrong but like i mentioned before if you are a newbie to either dollhouse kits or woodwork i Highly recommend buying the pre-built version.

I purchased this dollhouse for my daughter's fourth birthday. I finished it in two weeks working pretty hard on it everyday. It's much nicer once you get it together. I've wanted to build her a dollhouse for awhile now and I thought this would be perfect it's not too expensive and it looks nice. I'm pretty impressed with how it turned out, very nice, lots of detail where you want it. The rooms are pretty spacious and can accomodate most dolls and furniture. It wasn't too hard to assemble you just have to take your time with it. If you're not into cutting wood and sanding like heck then you should buy the pre-built version which is 100 bucks. I admit I was a bit skeptical about it at first, but I like a challenge and this kind of thing so for me it was worth it. A couple of words of advice about this dollhouse though: 1. You NEED sand paper, it's really really splintery. 2. A hot glue gun worked perfectly putting it together, it doesn't take too long to set and it makes the house a little more stable. 3. Don't throw away all the scrap wood save everything until you're completely done with the house, it comes in handy (use it to fix broken pieces, add more support to your base, or make some furniture out of it). 4. Don't take any of the pieces out of the wood sheet until you need them because alot of them look almost the same. 5. Have fun with it.

The dollhouse kit was missing essential parts. I was instructed to send it back and Orangeonions would send me a replacement. I returned the faulty kit and I called them to tell them that it had been returned. So far, I have received no word and no product and I am out $67.98. It has been a month. How long does it take?
