5.0 out of 5 stars Duralactin For Large Breed Dogs Too.., June 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Duralactin Equine 850 gram Bucket (Misc.)
This product was recommended to us for our Saint Bernard who had knee surgery and has arthritis. The pill form was far too small a dose for a 150 pound dog so we use the granules. She is unable to use the expensive Rymadil or Duramaxx due to negative side affects. No ill side affects here~ pleasant milkshake smell (for fun dog breath), she loves the flavor and an affective way to build strength in large breeds. Highly recommended!!

I bought this for my dog and I only give her about a teaspoon a day but it's much cheaper then the dog Duralactin. But my dog now jumps and plays like she used to. This stuff is GREAT! I may try this stuff with my horse too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Highly edible, December 17, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Duralactin Equine 850 gram Bucket (Misc.)
I actually use this for my dog, but since he is a large breed, this format is cheaper than the canine version. My vet recommended this for joint support. He told me that after reading about it, he wished they had a human version for his use. My dog has had 3 major ortho surgeries and now I'm trying to minimize my use of Rimadyl. Some supplements are distasteful enough, that they must be hidden in food to get the dog to eat it. Duralactin seems to be quite tasty and both my dogs eat it quite willingly. I wish it were more of a miracle for old age, but it's possible that without it, we would be much more infirm. I suppose it's enough of a miracle that I'm just giving Rimadyl PRN instead of daily to a 12-year old orthopedic disaster. It might rate 5 stars, but I'm unwilling to stop using it to find out if it's the supplement that is most effective.
