Duro-Med Exercise Pulley Set

I got this exercise pulley for my Mom after she had shoulder acromioplasty in both shoulders. It is similar to one she used at a physical therapy facility. The mechanism is smooth and sturdy and it has worked well. The only thing that could be improved is if the door hanger was longer and the pulleys came out from the door further. My Mom is wheelchair bound so it's hard to get centered under the pulleys for her to use it.

When my physical therapist told me to get a pulley system for home use to help me recover from a post-mastectomy Frozen Shoulder, I browsed online for the cheapest one. As soon as I saw the Duro-Med set though, I became completely captivated by the 1970s photo on the box. Why would they use a clearly outdated photo like that? Is that somebody's mom? Sister? Did they dig it out of the family photo album and put it on the pulley box? Has the company been in business for 40 years and they never changed their packaging? And, check out her arms - they are Michelle Obama arms. Toned, fit, in direct contrast to the dated dress and hairstyle.

Of course I had to buy it, who wouldn't? It arrived a couple of days later. It was very easy to install and I put it over the bathroom door and began my home-based physical therapy. I guess I don't know what to say except that it works as designed. It was easy for a one-armed woman to use and that's what it needs to be, and hopefully, someday I'll have the use of two arms again thanks to this device. I'll never mimic that hairstyle though.

I've had shoulder surgery and had to strengthen my shoulder. This pully works great! It's very easy to assemble and is very sturdy. I would highly recomend this pully!

This has been a great help in exercising my frozen shoulder. It is very durable, well made and does exactly what it is supposed to do. It would have been helpful to have a set of exercises included but then you can always look some up on the internet or create your own (I did both). It is very portable and I was able to take it with me on a recent trip. You can only place it on one side of the door (the door closes toward you) otherwise the molding gets in the way. It is less demanding physically than other exercises as you can use your "good" arm to pull the other arm up, sideways, or even behind your back. I found it easier to sit on a small stool to get a better range of motion. You may have to shorten the rope length (or just wind it around the handle as I do). Overall, good product, good price.

I bought this for my 87 year old mother who is in a nursing home. She uses the pull down daily, in conjunction with a number of other exercises to maintain both strength and flexibility. As the old saying goes: all you need is a door. This, along with a beach ball, some one pound and two pound weights and some other devices help reduce her pains. Use it or loose it.

Just what I was looking for. It fits easily over the top of a door and makes exercising arms a handy thing to do. Light weight but strong. Hand grips are easy to hold onto.

Very fair price, arrived promptly, thanks...professional and great service. I didn't know where to find one of these as per therapist's advice that it would help shoulder recovery from rotator cuff surgery...until somebody suggested Amazon.com

Does just what it claims. I enjoyed using it, and have had no problems with it. It fits nicely on the door, and doesn't get in the way.

Excellent purchase. My husband recently had rotater cup surgery on his shoulder. His physical therapist recommend we order an exercise pulley so he could continue his therapy exercises at home. It has helped tremendously to strengthen his shoulder. The price was so economical. Well worth the purchase.
