Duro-Med Allergy-Control Pillows is a state-of-the-art product made with Pristine Allergen-Barrier Fabric Covers. Pristine is a tightly-woven fabric, specially finished to provide the unique barrier properties of a laminate, without the added weight, stiffness and cost. Pristine filters out dust, dust mites and allergy-causing particles, yet retains airt porosity. Some of the benefits of this product are: soft, supple, quiet cover with hypo-allergenic fiberfill. Excellent, high moisture vapor permeability for comfort. They are easy to maintain and are self-deodorizing, as well as breathable, lint free, lightweight and have no coatings to flake off or delaminate. The extremely small fabric pore size (<10 microns) creates a barrier to lint, dust, dust mites and their by-products. When these particles become airborne and are inhaled or make contact with the skin, asthma and related allergic reactions can be triggered. The antimicrobial protection using EPA registered antimicrobial technology provides effective control of microorganisms commonly associated with health problems. This antimicrobial protection lasts for the life of the product. The full size contoured mattress cover can be laundered at home or in a hospital, it does not require dry cleaning.

Not what I thought I ordered,

It isn't a mattress encasing at all- it is a super tight woven sheet. I feel ripped off. How is it supposed to keep out all the allergens and dust particles when it doesn't even cover the whole mattress. How is this thing really $68? Come on!

I was looking for an allergen-proof cover that fit a standard (9" high) mattress. Seems this is difficult to locate in the modern era, with the proliferation of pillow-top mattresses. This seemed to fit the bill, but upon receipt I found it is just a fitted bed sheet. It may have a very dense thread count but it just goes on top and over the corners. It does not envelope the mattress and close with a zipper. In light of this I felt the price was not justified at all, but life is too busy to deal with the hassle of returning and seeking a refund.
