Ok I bought this book based off of reviews. I was so disappointed with it. She was so extremely down all the time, blamed everyone else for her sorrows, complained about being broken all the time, wouldn't let anyone in...I could go on and on. The whole book was like this, and the guy was way too understanding...never got annoyed with her, and it was just unrealistic. I stopped ready finally in the middle of book. Couldn't finish it, couldn't take ANY more taking it slow, feeling sorry for herself crap.
P.S. Don't waste your time.....

Camryn has been happily married for several years when her husband, Marcus, asks for a divorce out of the blue. The same night, her high school sweetheart, Holden, is back in town after being away for the last 8 years, and he is determined to win her back. But Camryn has first to come to terms with her husband’s decision while at the same time taking care of their two young girls, Ellie and Sophie. On top of all this, a dark secret from her past threatens to break her all over again when the man responsible reappears, and Camryn receives a threatening letter. Will Camryn be able to trust Holden again, and keep the darkness at bay?

Dust to Dust by S.P. Cervantes is a contemporary romance, and the first installment in the Broken Fairy Tale series. There will be 4 books in the series, each one a spin-off with a different main character. In Dust to Dust, the descriptions of the feelings between Camryn and Holden are well written if a bit repetitious. In addition, the author knows how to keep the sex scenes tasteful without giving too much details. I particularly liked the omnipresence of music in the book. In fact, the title Dust to Dust comes from a song by the Civil Wars, a song about loneliness and letting a lover in. Other artists mentioned are Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Imagine Dragons and Bruno Mars. If you wanted to, you could set up a playlist to go with this book! There are also references to “Seinfeld” and “Reservoir Dogs”, a TV show and a movie I love. The ending is satisfying even though I would have liked a little bit more background information into the perpetrators of the crimes.

In conclusion, I enjoyed reading Dust to Dust by S.P. Cervantes, but I thought the author left some questions unanswered.

I absolutely LOVED this book! I wasn't sure what to expect as I have never read an S.P. Cervantes book before, but I was very pleasantly surprised and can't wait to read more from S.P. Dust to Dust was the perfect mix of romance and suspense, and absolutely leaves you wanting more. If you are looking for a book that will allow you to escape the stress and obligations of your daily life, and allow you to simply enjoy some 'me time', this is the perfect book. You will love every single character and especially fall in love with Holden and Cam!

Wow I literally couldn't put this book down. Dust to Dust has everything you could possibly want all wrapped up in one book. You will fall in love with the characters S.P. Cervantes has created for us to enjoy.

This story revolves around two characters Holden and Cam and their own inner struggles. This book has it all tragedy, murder, mystery, death and much more but at the heart of this book is a incredible love story. I became heavily invested in these characters and didn't want the book to end. I really hope this isn't the end of Holden and Cam's story, give us one more S.P. I loved every page of this dark, heart-wrenching, but also soft and gentle beautifully written fairy tale.

Camryn and Holden have been inseparable since the second grade, when he was adopted by Cam's neighbors. They grew up as best friends in a quiet beach town and started dating during Cam's sophomore year in high school. A tragic event takes place one night on the way home from a party that changes Cam forever. She fears the consequences her family and Holden will face if she tells anyone what happened, so she keeps it to herself. She's no longer the fun-loving girl she used to be and keeps Holden at an arm's length, which eventually drives him away. He has no idea what she went through, but doesn't feel like he deserves her because of his broken past.

She meets a nice guy, Marcus, while away at college and thinks it's best if she just accepts a life that's predictable and safe. The passionate love and spark she felt with Holden is missing, but she decides to marry Marcus anyway and they have two daughters. Her and Holden remain best friends over the years and it's hard to deny they have a strong connection. It comes as a shock when Marcus decides to divorce Cam because he wants to be truly loved by someone.

Holden is there to help Cam pick up the pieces of her broken marriage and take care of her girls. She loves him, but is scared to let go and try to make a relationship work. After pressuring Cam to tell him what happened all those years ago, she finally lets Holden in and tells him what broke her. She faces some retaliation as a result of her honesty, but when Holden is there to take care of her and her family, she realizes he is all she's ever wanted and lets her walls down.

I liked the strong connection between Cam and Holden and that after so many years they were able to find their way back to one another.
