4.0 out of 5 stars DON'T LIKE FABRIC
I bought this to use with my Grandson. It's a sturdy good quality chair & was one of the few that didn't come with an unwanted ottoman. The only NEGATIVE about it is the denim fabric. Any time it gets slightly wet such as when a baby chews on it - which they do on everything - it leaves a white spot. I would assume that if you tried to clean it with a damp cloth it would...

I would not recommend this glider. In my opinion, this is a cheap, in all senses of the word, piece of furniture.

This review is from: Sleigh Glider (Kitchen)
I would not recommend this glider. In my opinion, this is a cheap, in all senses of the word, piece of furniture.

The fit/finish of the unit we were shipped was not high, but it is hard to know if this is typical or not. Our unit had the following;
some of the dowels were not tight out of the box,
the wedges holding the seat back slats were irregularly inserted, as were the tacks for the dowels,
the sprayed on stain doesn't cover the wood completely,
the screws holding the arms on are exposed, with no wood cover plugs,
the general construction is light weight, with thin wood parts, not much reinforcement
the seat bottom is a suspension fabric tacked in place and
the finish is very thin.

The enclosed booklet recommends that the cushions be cleaned professionally, not dry cleaned.

The wooden seat frame has cut outs for the recliner hardware, which is not part of this model, so the seat frame has an odd missing chunk when viewed from the side.

It doesn't have the feel of a piece of furniture that would be suitable for non-petite people. This isn't to say that it wouldn't; it just feels lightweight. (The shipping weight is 65lbs- draw your own conclusions.)

So...Probably OK to have for short term use, but I wouldn't count on it holding up to much use.

Based upon the unit we received, I would recommend a different manufacturer.

4.0 out of 5 stars DON'T LIKE FABRIC, February 1, 2009
This review is from: Dutailier Ultramotion Sleigh Glider - Light Blue Denim (Kitchen)
I would assume that if you tried to clean it with a damp cloth it would only make it worse. After about 6 months of use the fabric is looking pretty bad. I may call the company & see if I can get new cushions for it with different fabric.

4.0 out of 5 stars All around decent glider, January 7, 2009
I've been using this glider for about two months. It is comfortable and very sturdy. The gliding motion is quite smooth. I understand why people want the Dutailier brand. One word of warning, this particular glider is a very basic model. It does not have the locking feature. The other thing that puzzles me a bit is that the arm rest bolsters are so tight they barely reach around the arms. Because the bolsters close using velcro, I'm a bit concerned that in time these will give out.
