Dick Stucki has been cooking since he was a young boy, and learned to cook in Dutch ovens from a Basque sheepherder while he was a scout. From that time on he has been cooking in Dutch ovens and sharing his good food and ideas with anyone wanting to learn. A fully qualified chef in his own right, Dick has competed in cooking in competitions for 25 years, winning most of the ones he cooked in, and then gained a great reputation for running some of the best cook-off s ever held. Dick Stucki was the founder of the International Dutch Oven Society (IDOS) which now has members form over the globe. He has been teaching cooking classes for over 30 years, and is The World Champion of Outdoor Cooking. Scout leaders and outdoor cooks and enthusiasts across the country know him as "Mr. Dutch Oven." Dick is the author on many cookbooks on different topics. Many people have had the privilege of eating his cooking and learning from him either in classes he taught or at demonstrations he has given for various groups and organizations.
