This review is from: The Dutch Shoe Mystery (Otto Penzler's Classic American Mystery Library) (Paperback)

The early Queens -- all titled The <nationality> <object> Mystery are all excellent, with intricate puzzles and carefully deduced solutions. Most feature a "Challenge to the Reader". This is one of the very best (others being French Powder and Chinese Orange). Later Queens are less impressive for the most part.
