are they forcing us into the digital revolution????,

This review is from: The Dutchess - Deluxe (Audio CD)
So I have always been a big supporter of buying actual cd's. Even when you download something on iTunes you are asked to "back-up" your purchases.. i.e. burn a physical cd of your downloaded music. This Fergie re-release is simply pissing me off... which I would guess is not her fault, but the record labels. This re-release includes 4 new songs. I bought this CD today only to find out that over on iTunes, there is a 5 track digital download EP. Yes, you read that right.. 5 tracks. There is a song called "Pick It Up", which you can only get on the digital down EP. So, if you already have this Fergie CD from 2006, go download the EP that is available. And as a matter of fact.. FYI.. you can ONLY get the additional song "Pick It Up" if you download the ENTIRE EP... it is not available as a single song download.

An Absolutely Unnecessary Re-Release : Fergie Gets it Wrong,
By Cabir Marc Davis (Amazon) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Dutchess - Deluxe (Audio CD)
Heres the thing, Fergie : Do you WANT me to illegally download your stuff? I may as well, considering this new version of "The Dutchess" comes more than a year after its' original release, and only gives us FOUR new songs, of which one is a hideous remix of the albums' worst track. Seriously. Which genius greenlighted this project? At least Beyonce, when she rereleased "B'Day", gave us tons of new tracks, and an entire DVD with a music video to every track!! Now that's what I call a re-release, not this embarrassment of a "Deluxe Edition". Meanwhile, what does "Deluxe" even mean. I hear that word so often when these 'editions' come out, and I doubt even Fergie knows the actual meaning of the word.
The only new songs here are "Party People" with Nelly, "Barracuda" (a VERY poor Heart cover), and the new song from the "Sex and the City" soundtrack. Do yourself a favor - head to Itunes, where you can get the Digital EP of this album - all 4 extra songs plus one other song that you can't get anywhere else (this physical CD does NOT contain that extra song). Is it worth it? Yes and No. As with every rerelease, many people are usually divided on whether the purchase was 'worth it'. In the case of this album, I implore you - PLEASE do not support such pathetic attempts at extracting our money - either download the tracks individually online, but if you already own "The Dutchess", there is really NO NEED to own this disaster. One Star. Get with the program Fergie, and stop rippin' us off.

Most tracks are good, some great, but it goes from pop to jazz, to rock to rap...she pulls it all off well and I'm glad I bought the album, but the first time I listened to the whole thing I wasn't sure how I felt about it because I was so confused!
I recommend it, but I wish they'd made a more consistent album by picking ONE idea to weave into it instead of six.

Fergie "The Dutchess Deluxe Edition" 2008
1. Fergalicious (5 Stars) 2. Clumsy (4 Stars) 3. All That I Got (4 Stars) 4. London Bridge (5 Stars) 5. Pedestal (5 Stars) 6. Voodoo Doll (4 Stars) 7. Glamorous (5 Stars) 8. Velvet (3 Stars) 9. Big Girls Don't Cry (5 Stars) 10. Mary Jane Shoes (2 Stars) 11. Losing My Ground (4 Stars) 12. Finally (3 Stars) 13. Barracuda (4 Stars) 14. Party People (4 Stars) 15. Clumsy (Collipark Remix) (5 Stars) 16. Labels or Love (5 Stars) Here you have it! The Deluxxxe Edition is here. Though it isn't new, it's still popular throughout time. Many websites say that people only buy her original album instead of this deluxe edition because this version has the less-liked music that people don't want. I've gotta tell you guys that I've bought this album with disappointment that many people have had. If I were you, I wouldn't buy this and if I were you, I'd just download "Party People" online and be done with it.

This is my first Fergie CD. I did enjoy it but I had to listen to it a few times for it to grow on me. I bought it because Big Girls Don't Cry was on the CD. I may go the way of a IPod in the future. I like her voice and most, not all, of the songs, however, it is very rare to like every song on a CD so all in all it is a good CD.

Disappointing!!!!!!
I wonder if Fergie has any say in if a re-release of her 1st debut album is necessary or not. She probably does, i mean she isn't recording new songs for her health. Anyways artist these days really ruin things with their re-releases. It is such a double dip effort. She could have just released the 4 songs as an EP or recorded a whole new album. It has been 2 years since the Dutchess was released so maybe it was time 4 a new album. I am so disappointed by this. The funny thing is i don't know 1 person who owns the Fergie CD. So was it that big of a success in terms of album sales that it garners a re-release with extra tracks? Most likely not and if that's the case why not just release a new album. Only get this if you haven't already picked up the 1st release. I can't believe Beyonce & Justin did this as well. Only Mariah's re-release was worth it because it came with a DVD. Don't re-release unless your gonna offer something spectacular.
