I am a fan of this symphony and have many copies of it recorded at various times with various technologies and of course various orchestras and conductors.

I think the conductor and the orchestra come across as relatively transparent and agreeable not insisting on trying to change the work into something it is not. I am saying this because when I listen to this record, I am hearing the symphony as I am accustomed to hearing it. They kind of did everything right. For me anyway.

The recording engineering is everything TELARC stands for: EXCELLENT. The orchestra is portrayed in a wide soundtrage that images beautifully even on lower rez systems.

VERY happy with this purchase.

Bravo as the label says. My favorite rendition and great interpretation. Virtuosity at its best. Sonic quality of recording is way up there. You'll love it.
