A wondrous guide to orchestrating a living space,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dwelling: Living Fully from the Space You Call Home (Paperback)
Media director Mary Beth Lagerborg presents Dwelling: Living Fully from the Space You Call Home, which is not an interior decorating guide in the traditional sense - rather, Dwelling emphasizes that creating a comfortable home is intimately tied to cultivating the relationships within it. Chapters discuss how to cope with tastes for decorating or cleanliness that are at odds with one another, how to make working from home successful, transforming the atmosphere of one's home into an inviting place for guests, and much more. A wondrous guide to orchestrating a living space to serve the deeper needs of the soul, rather than just the simple aesthetic demands of the eye.

Very General,

This review is from: Dwelling: Living Fully from the Space You Call Home (Paperback)
This book is very general. If you are looking for something that gives you specifics and how tos, this is not the book to choose. However, if you want ideas overall to use your own creativity, then you might like this book.

Seeing in other peoples worlds,
By Mom on the go (LA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dwelling: Living Fully from the Space You Call Home (Paperback)
The book Dwelling is a good book. You have a much better understanding of the book, if you are watching the video to the book. My MOPS group has been watching the video. The book and video give you insight into other peoples homes and worlds. You are learning about hospitality and how others welcome people into their homes. Humans are nosey by nature, so you enjoy seeing how other people have decorated their homes, and how other people live in a real day to day life.

Love Dwelling!,

I got my copy of Dwelling and read it all in one sitting. I love it. I laughed and cried as I heard MaryBeth Largerborg's voice speaking to me like a dear friend over a cup of tea. It was a wonderful affirmation to keep on keeping on as I struggle to live fully and provide a santuary for my family and friends. She speaks to my need to have my home be so much more than a showplace but a safe haven for myself as well as those I love.

Misleading title,
By Jules (St Louis, MO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dwelling: Living Fully from the Space You Call Home (Paperback)
'Living Fully' might be a better title. This is a general lifestyle guide, and has very little to say about your home's physical 'space.' Lots of general family life advice (not particularly original) on living together, raising children, and outside relationships.

I enjoyed the prospective of this book. In our fast paced society it was a good reminder as to how important home is.

I ordered 25 books for our local MOPS group and I really appreciated several things:
1) prompt emails about the status of the order 2) no shipping cost - through Super Saver Discount 3) prompt arrival date ... shipped Aug 22, estimated arrival Aug 28, actual arrival date Aug 24 (which was an answer to prayers) 4) The MOPS ladies really enjoy the book. Easy reading and very good information shared. |
