I have no problem with the indicator lights, which are tiny.

A big plus for this is that it's a powered hub so you can use longer USB 3.0 cables and it will power the portable hard drives with no issues.
Asif Shaikh
It is contained in a very, very heavy gauge solid aluminum case.

This hub is extremely well made, from a mechanical perspective. Having been a machinist & tool designer for 20 some years, I can honestly say that this is how I would build a hub. It is constructed from extruded aluminum with punched holes for the ports. The finish is sort of a semi-matte black (a bit glossier than a true matte black) with a textured finish. I cannot speak for the quality of the electronics inside, nor the construction of the actual USB ports. I assume this hub contains low-cost Chinese built electronic components, housed in no less than a military-duty housing.

I believe Mark's review of 2 stars was a bit harsh, and seems to reflect his understandable frustration of the overall purchase & return, and subsequent customer service directly from the company. I get that, I hate hassles like what he went through. But the hub the itself does not merit only 2 stars by any means. However, I do have a point of concern: the specs state that this hub will supply 900ma per port. That is great. But then why does it ship with a 2000ma (2a) power supply? 900 x 4 is 3600 where I went to school. I also am not an electronics wizard, so perhaps there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for this. Or not.

Off the record, this is a 5-star hub. It is truly the nicest hub I have seen or used. On the record, I am giving 4 stars for this review. I have subtracted 1 star because the manufacturer is fully aware of a serious compatibility issue with this, yet they have still not updated the description to reflect this, despite having had ample time and additional verification that there is, in fact a problem. Apparently they would rather frustrate additional customers, so for the Mark's out there, they lose a star until I see that they have decided to show real customer support.

The power switch on this hub is electronic, not physical. It has no on or off position. So if power is removed from the hub (say, from a power failure, or an eco AC strip that cuts power to some outlets when the computer is off), it won't turn back on automatically when power is restored. This is incredibly annoying if the hub is in a hard-to-reach location. They call this an "industrial design" hub, but it would fail in an industrial application based on this "feature" alone.

This is built like a tank: Excellent quality. Win 7 Pro 64 bit recognized all of portable drives and USB flash drives immediately.

Some complain about there being no feet. I can see their point, but the truth is the user should decide how to position this and the design makes that possible. It's more convenient for me to lay it on its side, so that the cables plug in horizontally instead of on top. I added four adhesive cushions on the surface where the name appears in the picture since that will be facing down (I used the clear plastic pads that are a little smaller than a dime and are widely available at hardware stores, etc.)

I have no problem with the indicator lights, which are tiny.

Excellent hub. It's great to see a device that isn't cheap plastic.

Update: Works fine with 240V. I use when traveling outside the US and it's fine. Great device. I'm running four 2 TB WD external drives, 2 Lexar USB flash drives and a pretty fat wi-fi dongle: All fit easily and work with no issues.

This USB hub is definitely an industrial strength tool!! I bought this to replace a Hub that simply stopped working with routine use after a couple of months. The old hub was made of plastic and on initial use the top and bottom halves broke apart. I super glued it and it worked great for a few months. Then for no reason it just quit. In contrast this Dyconn Hub is constructed like a brick (OUT)house. It is contained in a very, very heavy gauge solid aluminum case. You could stand on this thing and not dent it. The 7 ports are slightly recessed into the case which gives excellent stability to the cable inserted. The power switch is easily accessible. It appears to easily supply full USB 3.0 900 mA to each port. The one thing I miss from previous Hub is the 2 Power only ports for charging my IPad and phone. So far the Dyconn Hub has been absolutely flawless and recognizes everything I plug into it. It also does NOT have that weird quirk that messes with a USB 2.0 wireless mouse dongle, good work guys!! I have multiple USB 3.0 hard drives plugged in and transfer speeds are superb. Video file transfers that took about 8 minutes now average maybe 2-4 minutes max!! PROS: SOLID, FAST, RELIABLE, COMPATIBILITY. CONS: NO POWER ONLY PORTS.

okay, I just got this today but thought i should write an initial review based on what I am seeing so far.

Pros
Solidly constructed unit. I could more than likely use this as a hammer (wouldn't as hammers are cheaper) but it is that solid a construction
Well packaged in a professionally manufactured box, the unit itself packaged in sealed plastic, along with a cable to connect to the computer (bit on that in a second) and a nice little power block.
Instruction manual included (English and well-written at that). I've purchased some highly rated hubs that arrived with no documentation and very cheap construction.
The cable is very nice, and thicker than most, more than likely to carry power to all ten connections
No loose connections. All connections are tight and don't move once connected. This was the issue (at least it appeared so) with the other hubs as invariably I would hear my computer beep as something became disconnected or worse, a short circuit that would either lock up my computer or wouldn't allow the computer to even turn on (could only turn it on after I unplugged el cheapo hub). I took my keyboard usb connection and plugged it into all ten of them and not one loose, movable connection
I have tried my usb 3.0 external drive and it works fine with just the one cable... no power issues yet
Did a very quick read-write test using a usb 3.0 thumbdrive (solid state) and no slower than connecting it directly to the computer (met USB 3.0 standards in both cases)

Cons
It is big but more than likely that is necessary to support the size of the board the usb sockets are connected to. I wasn't looking at using this as a hub for my laptop and glad I wasn't.... big to carry as a portable device.
