Fabric dyeing & painting quilt patterns & projects,
By C. Turner (Central California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dye It! Paint It! Quilt It!: Making and Using One-Of-A-Kind Fabrics in Quilts (Paperback)
The first 40 pages are devoted to detailed instructions on fabric dyeing, and painting. There are detailed directions, and color photos of important steps. Dyeing methods include Tie-dye, and Shibori-wrap. The painting section includes using salt crystals, stamping, sponging, and transfers from glass. Twenty pages cover various quilt blocks utilizing the hand-made fabric. Twelve quilt projects are covered with detailed instructions with cut lists, color photos, and diagrams for assembly. Full size templates are included for each project (lacking the 1/4" seam allowance). Finally, eight pages involve using hand-dyed fabric to make clothing and other textiles for the home. Source references given for supplies, as well as dye recipes for colors.
