Uncomfortable, May 28, 2011
I bought these to wear at a pageant. I'm only going to wear them if I can fix a couple things - both related to comfort. These shoes are subpar quality, but that's expected. The material is all manmade, which is stated in the description. But keep in mind that because it's manmade, there is no stretch in the front band that crosses over the toes. This means the band will press against your toes, basically like a compression band. It's nice that they keep your foot from sliding forward too much (but I am a 7.5 Narrow and I purchased a 7 in these shoes, so make sure you're getting a size that will work for your foot), but the material has no give, so it hurts after just a little bit of walking in them. I'm going to try to alleviate the discomfort by using Dr Scholl's Rub Relief Strips. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that the ball of foot is not cushioned at all. I'm going to purchase a pair of ball of foot cushions and see if they'll work. I do like that the heel is made of some kind of metal - not plastic.
