Wow! Kudo's to the writers cast and crew! House gets better and better with every season and every episode. Our whole family hopes it lasts as long as The Simpsons. We look forward to every new episode and own every season on DVD.
Thanks for hours of drama, suspense, laughter and tears.

I never bought into the criticism that the new characters were the problem with the drifting of Season 4. The new characters really do show promise as evidenced in this 1st episode of 5. My contention all along is that there was some sloppy writing in some of the episodes of 4 and that the characters are really what the writer makes of them, and good acting.
This 1st episode is more reminiscent of the classic House. I would have liked to have seen House more involved with the medical decisions here, but it's understandable that time needed to be devoted to build the personal story involving Wilson.
It really leaves one wondering how House can hold his life together. He is the extreme case of a person, or people, each of us have known, or know. This is what partly drives the popularity of this show.
I look forward to seeing how his character unfolds, or unravels, throughout this season and hopefully many more to come.

Love this show, October 26, 2009

House MD is by far the best drama on TV over the past few years. I cannot stress the "by far" part enough. Possibly even the best show period. I don't usually get hooked on watching many dramas - so many of them tend to get boring or have poor writing and/or acting, but this shows does both very well.
Hugh Laurie is phenomenal, and it's truly amazing that his character can be such an a$$, yet we still like him. Great show!

How Did Wilson Take It?, June 2, 2009
This review is from: House Season 5 (Amazon Instant Video)
The season 4 finale was something nobody saw coming. Wilson and Amber was an unlikely couple but something I personally would have loved to have seen more of. Unfortunately, the relationship didn't last long as Amber was taken suddenly thanks to House needing her to escort him home on a bus. Amber died and season 4 ended with the image of a dishevelled Wilson who's just lost the love of his life and obviously wants to blame it on House. Season 5 was anticipated massively as we would no doubt find out what Wilson had to say about the situation. Would he and House remain friends or would our worst fears be realised and the greatest friendship on modern TV would be broken. Sadly it was the latter.
The episode opens with a new patient who is a hard working, hallucinating executive's assistant with a similar strong personality to Thirteen. Wilson informs House that he plans to resign from Princeton Plainsboro and from his friendship with House. Thirteen also faces a dilemma of her own as at the end of season 4 we say her get the result she was dreading and that was her testing positive for Huntington's disease cutting her life short.
House tended to pay little attention to his medical case as he struggled with the dilemma that he may lose his best friend. He tries talking Wilson out of it in a very un-House-like way by simply calling Wilson an idiot, when the usual way is to tell his opponent everything wrong with their decision. Everything wrong with Wilsons decision would mean House admitting that he may be at fault for Ambers death and would mean House may have to apologise and let his guard down. Cuddy gets involved, not just to repair the friendship but also to try and not lose the hospitals, and House's moral conscience.
It's really a great episode, but one that simply had to happen as we not only see an old side to House, but we also see a new side when he admits to Wilson he was wrong and actually apologises. It's very rare that we get these moments, and the show creators really know how to work them moments to ensure they leave a print on the viewer's memories. It's a great way to start the season off with a bang and leaves you wanting more, and let me say, it really delivers.
