Who better to feel a Cub fan's pain?,
By Bungalow Stokes (Burke, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Dying Cub Fan's Last Request (MP3 Download)
The late Steve Goodman: a song-writer with a style ("City of New Orleans") but also a curse: he was a Cub fan. This song tells the Cub fan's story. The hope and the dashing of that hope. Yearly.
It has references to growing up in Chicago and going to Wrigley field, and it names names --- Ernie Banks and Keith Moreland --- that will trigger memories of other names. Good times, good stuff. |
