Beyond amazing!,

Gothic-rock masterpiece!! (Bizarre that Amazon have linked it with power-metal bands that they have NOTHING in common with. Except that they have guitars. And drums. And a singer. But otherwise, completely different!)Charon are one of those musical gems that crops up only occasionally on the radar - true, they've been going for quite some time, but they've never really got much airplay outside of mainland Europe. Put simply, if you like bands like HIM, Sentenced (albums "Down" to "The Cold White Light"), Poisonblack (JP sings for Charon!) and Entwine, you will love this album. A smooth, moody, melancholic, gothic, but ultimately uplifting album, this is one of the best albums you could pick up this year. Every song is a keeper, and well worth checking out. You won't be disappointed! And tell all your friends, too.

Charon does it again..,

Once again Charon proves to be one of the absolute best goth rock bands ever to grace my CD Player. Ever since their first release "Sorrowburn" Charon never seems to let me down, not even one bad song released. If you've heard any of Charon's previous CDs and liked them, don't wait another second to get this one.

Good but not Great.,

Being a huge fan of all things metal and rock I was very excited to get my hands on this disc, and though I was thrilled at first, there's little in the songs to keep me listening a year out. There's alot of little things that bugged me. Firstly, the songs "Death can Dance" and "Guilt on Skin," though both highlight songs on the album, follow extremely similar chord progressions. You can take riffs from either song and splice them together, but the chorus riffs are very similar. (They are still very excellent songs on their own right, just too similar to be released on the same cd in my opinion.) There's other bits on some songs, the track opener "Religious-Delicious" contains a guitar solo where the guitarst just seemed to be bored, just plucking notes that sat well but not really doing anything spectacular.
Again, it was good the first time through, but as you get used to the songs, not much new stuff pops out at you. I would recommend Poisonblack's "Lust Stained Dispair" if you want something that sounds very similar, but with more heart behind the playing. Best song? Probably my favorite is "Every Failure." It's one of four songs I can return to, even if the guitar riff could have been written by Rammstein. I like Rammstein.
