This study attempts to observe Dylan Thomas at his work by tracing certain themes, tropes, and stylistic features. It opens with a brief biographical sketch, and then undertakes a general analysis of his style; these are followed by surveys of his verse, fiction and dramatic works. Naturally, the greatest emphasis is placed on his poetry. In discussing it, the author has brought forward some of its elemets of unity and cosistency; followed its development; placed individual poems; and, when coherence seemed to be in question, has offered explications.
