3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't last long
Was a great deal as a kit, and worked great for the 1st 3 months. After approx 3 months and 6 rolls of tape, the unit appeared to be working fine until print was selected. Get a constant "Tape Jam" notice, no matter what is done. Changed tapes, new batteries, tried with AC power adapter, cleaned head with provided tool, all the same. When changing tapes, motor that...

Want a great deal on a label-maker then pick yourself up on of these Dymo printers. It's so simple you don't have to read the instructions (I did after I used it just to make sure I wasn't missing anything (and I wasn't)). The case is an extra bonus and so is the adapter. FYI- The picture shows Duracell batteries but they came with GP brand. Not that I care. The unit feels solid and the keys have a nice touch. The menus are super easy to follow, making the entire process a breeze. The labels look good and the font sizes make for easy reading. At work we have a hand held label-maker that cost many times the price of this one and it has a few more features but for the money I'll take this one any day.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice inexpensive Labeler kit, August 6, 2008

This review is from: Dymo LM210D Desktop Kit Case 2 Tapes AA Batt Ac Adapter (Office Product)
This is a very nice kit that Amazon has. This is my 1st purchase of a labeler and I did plenty of research before buying this one. I chose this over the LM150 model because it was newer and had a few more features.

The D1 cartridges that this unit uses are in abundance and have many variations: black, blue, and red ink, clear labels and colored labels. It can use three sizes: 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". You will find cheaper replacement cartridges online such as at labelcity dot com. Price varies from 11 to 25 dollars.

The one major con I can think of is that this unit wastes about an inch of label when printing. 1/2 inch of blank space on either side of printed text is created and wasted. That's a lot of waste considering the price of these cartridges. That's why a star is knocked off.

Don't even think about using these as Address labels - far too expensive and you have to do them line-by-line. If you use the 1/4" labels you can trick the unit into printing larger text by selecting 3/8" after turning the unit on. The unit memorizes the last label you typed in and has a power saving feature that shuts off after 5 minutes (I think it's 5).

The kit provides an AC adapter which I love. I hate replacing batteries. But the unit will also happily run on 6 AA batteries if you need portability. Two 23 foot tapes come with it: one 1/2" black text on white, and one 3/8" black text on yellow. The yellow really jumps out at you if you use it for filing. The carrying case will make sure you keep it all organized and protected.

The crocodile border is just plain silly, but very good job DYMO! I am labeling everything in sight.
Now if you can only do something about that wasted space on labels!

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT LABELER FOR THE PRICE!, February 18, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dymo LM210D Desktop Kit Case 2 Tapes AA Batt Ac Adapter (Office Product)
This small desktop labeler can really get the job done. Not heavy on features, but for the price, it can accomplish alot. Picked this up last week (kit - which includes the Labeler itself, AC Adaptor, batteries, starter tape, full tape, instruction booklet and a very nice, sturdy case), for $37.11 (plus shipping). Prints up to 2 lines (3 would be nicer - for address labels). My only complaint is that the LCD Display needs an increase in contrast - or give it a backlight. The D1 standard tapes are about 23 feet in length - and I find that labelcity.com offers the best prices for these. I reccommend this labeler considering the price and the features that you get from it.

4.0 out of 5 stars I own this labeler -- wish I'd known there was a kit!, January 27, 2009

Well, I must have been in a hurry last week when I purchased the labeler (210D) with the AC adapter. I purchased it from TigerDirect and thought it was a great deal since the AC adapter by itself runs about $10-15. However, I missed this opportunity which comes with an extra full-length tape and batteries. I personally don't really care for the carrying case, since it seems a bit bulky, but it could add some value for others looking for that type of thing. I plan on just keeping mine either on the desk, plugged in, or in a drawer. I've printed a few labels since opening it today and they are crisp & clear. They don't waste as much tape as some other labelers do, although it doesn't seem like there's an option to make the margins narrower. I would only take off a 1/2 star for that since it is doing what I need it to do. I only wish I'd seen this deal instead, since I can't return mine now. The tapes usually run about $20 or more apiece so this is a steal.

I purchased the 210D LabelManager over the LetraTag personal labelmakers because of the QWERTY. The tapes (D1) are more expensive than the LetraTag, but I don't plan on using that many labels, and I have somewhat of a home office setup that I think this labeler will be good for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything you need in one place, August 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dymo LM210D Desktop Kit Case 2 Tapes AA Batt Ac Adapter (Office Product)
I have wanted one of these label makers for a long time. My very organized sister-in-law has used hers to label anything that stands still. After reading many Amazon reviews I decided on this product because I wanted the carrying case and the Dymo brand. The machine is small but sturdy and comes with 2 cartridges. There is an adapter so I can save the batteries. Best thing is that the leading edge of the label is now much shorter so you don't waste a lot of the label tape. The label comes out the back instead of the side and does not automatically cut off - you press a cut-off button on the side and the label is complete. I am very happy with this product.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not What I Had Hoped For, January 9, 2011

This review is from: Dymo LM210D Desktop Kit Case 2 Tapes AA Batt Ac Adapter (Office Product)
My company has several Dymo labelers around the office but battery life is not that good. When I saw this labeler with the power supply included, I was very pleased. Unfortunately, there are just too many issues with the product. First, it's very difficult to power on. I have tried pushing the on button several times in several ways, but you have to hold it for quite awhile to power up the labeler. Secondly, and likely the most important issue, is that the display on the labeler is so faint, that you can barely read it. I have tried holding it in several directions but unless you are holding it under a bright light, you can't hardly read it. I have adjusted the contrast but nothing helped. Functionally, the labeler produces nice labels, but I will have to return this one and try something else.

Very fast delivery. Very satisfied with how the dymo labels are working and I sure did save $$ from buying at my local store. When I need to purchase more tapes, I shall be buying from this seller.

Get a constant "Tape Jam" notice, no matter what is done. Changed tapes, new batteries, tried with AC power adapter, cleaned head with provided tool, all the same. When changing tapes, motor that ensures tape is tight and loaded properly will not run when tape is inserted. A shame that unit quit working before 1st set of batteries were even used up! Will not purchase another. Tossed entire kit in garbage, but friend lucked out and he got the 4 new tapes I had.

This review is from: Dymo LM210D Desktop Kit Case 2 Tapes AA Batt Ac Adapter (Office Product)
Im quite impressed. it is very easy to use, instructions are clear, it does not have as many symbols as others do.. but enough to make a handy tool. After reading and searching for awhile, I chose this one. Im very impressed by the quality of the labels...This kit is perfect and the fact that it comes with the adaptor in addition to the batteries is a plus. Im planning to buy several as xmas presents. the labels were so perfect my guests taught the front and rear labels i placed in my range burner dials were factory labels. great buy so far
