Didn't work for my rifle.
on June 8, 2013
I really wanted this to work, but it had no noticeable effect on the copper fouling in my barrel.
I have a Mauser 96 with a Shilen barrel on it. It shoots pretty well but has always been a copper hog. I have tried all the usual ammonia based copper cleaners, but they take forever, even with multiple soakings. I followed the Bore Coat directions to the letter, unfortunately, it made no noticeable difference. It still takes literally dozens of patches to get clean.
I have nothing to add regarding Bore Coat, but I have found the ultimate copper cleaner: KG-12, available at Midway. The stuff very quickly removes all copper. I now use 30-40 fewer patches when cleaning this barrel!
