5.0 out of 5 stars BE CAREFUL, January 19, 2008
This item is a great item that is fun and works out your arms so great that it feels like they will fall off. Although when i bought the item i thought that i was buying the highest end gyro ,Powerball Blue, with speeds of up to 18000rpm and 40lbs resistance. This is simply a cheaper gyro that they applied blue lights to and called the powerball blue since it only has 32-35 lbs resistance and speeds up to 13000rpm. So make sure you know what you are buying because it was a big mistake for me

3.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, not the most bang for the buck, March 22, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
As the title suggests, this thing works well for strengthening forearms and fingers and helping with climber/tennis/armwrestler elbow. The LED light is cool at first (useful as a nightlight) but annoying if you're trying to exercise inconspicuously. Some reviewers have referred to this powerball as a toy and I would tend to agree. It feels cheap and after a short while it starts to develop signs of wear like squeeking, rubbing, and just general friction-derived noises that also annoy. It's like buying a new bike that already has a bent rim, worn brakes, and bad bearings. This model is said to retail for $40, for this price I would definitely get an NSD brand powerball. They start at $25 and have much better quality gyros (smooth as silk). Take home message, this powerball will get the job done, just not with the quality you would expect and could get with a better powerball (www.nsdpowerballs.com).

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome small exercise machine, But don't get discouraged, January 5, 2007
Great product

There's no end to the number of activities that involve hand, wrist and arm movements. Golf, typing, boxing, baseball, basket ball, arm wrestling. I box and practice MMA, and I love this thing. It's basically a gyroscope inside a tiny ball, you start it, via the string it comes with, or with your hand (a bit difficult)

After reciving this product I went through many stages with it, I couldn't use it, then I loved it, then I disliked it, and now I love it again. This is because it takes a bit to get used to the movements involved in accelerating the gyroscope, but once you get the hang of it you can really get a good work out for your hand muscles, and your wrist, and also your arm. A full speed dynaflex has to be held to be believed.

However addicting, the string used to start the dynaflex will probably break before you manage to learn how to start it manually. The product comes with a mini CD that has a nice video explaining how to start and use it, and mentions that a manual starter can be purchased (but not available on amazon) But with a little snipping, any shoe lace can be used to start this neat little machine

It's like the nintendo Wii, I broke this machine's string because I was SO addicted to using it
